Silly question

When talking about "best avg of 5", can I take a rolling average of 5 from an average of 12/24 etc., or do I just do avgs of 5?

5 consecutive solves make up an average of 5. An average of 12 contains many avgs of 5. The best avg of 5 is the best avg of 5 consecutive solves.

I understand what you mean. My best average of five to date (23.xx) is actually close to my avg of 12. (just did personal best avg of 12, 23.70, today which is why I was asking). But if I take the best five consecutive solves from this average it drops down to 22.xx.
