Hi guys
I'm posting this on both a speedsolving forum, as a magic forum.

Even though the chance of having speedcubers in my audience is incredibly low, it's important to check.

I've made a video of a rubik's cube magic trick.
I've sent it to a magicians site to check the handling of the last part of the video (round 0:59)
But the thing I want you to check out is everything before that. the actual solve.
I want to make the solve look as legit as possible. in other words, a legitimate (rehearsed) (speed)blindsolve with a mistake in my last algorythm, rescrambling my cube.

So my question is. Does this look real, or do the cube rotations I have in the solve flash the method?
thanks

AN IMPORTANT THING TO ADD
This is not a nose peek, in fact there's no cheating in the solve part, all cheating has been done in memo.
I can really blindsolve but it takes too much time to do that on stage.

Before i read this i was totally convinced, that you peeked under the blindfold. You turned your head in a super-suspicious way. You should either look straight down or (which is imo more impressive) solve the cube behind your back.

I can really blindsolve but it takes too much time to do that on stage.

Go practice then? ;)

There's another reason I use a rehearsed scramble and not a true blindsolve or nose-peek, but explaining that part would spoil the last part of the trick

Also, yes, whenever I do an algorythm (and this solve is simply one long 61 move algorythm) my head tends to pull to the left. you can also see that in my real blindsolve video.

Depends. Did you practice this scramble? If so, this is *not* speedblind. It is a prepared (blind) solve, and if you call it a "blindsolve" that's cheating. In the context of magic, it might be appropriate to fool people, but please be clear and honest here.

I stated there is no cheating in the solve, I have cheated on the memo however, which as I said two or three times before, rehearsed. In fact, the way this cube is built makes it impossible to memo legitimately.
If it were real, would I ask you if it looks real?.

But back to the original question, is it possible for you to see the method of the magic part by looking at the solve.

I even screw up solving it sighted a lot (parity) and I'm just a beginner in blind and have barely started learning speedblind.
Though the workaround would be memoing from a different cube scrambled the same way, which would also solve the angle problem since it has no cube rotations.

Huh? Your solve *is* cheating. If you mean "no peeking", say that.
Also, I did not see you state that it is rehearsed, nor is it made clear in the video. Maybe I'm missing something, but it looked like something you're trying to pass off to us as "speed BLD" – which it's not. It just happens to be a prepared blindsolve ("cheating") disguised as a speedblindsolve (until the end), not a speedblindsolve passed off as a magic trick.

I'm not sure we'd be as upset if you hadn't put "speedblind" in the title.

In fact, the way this cube is built makes it impossible to memo legitimately.
As Kirjava said, that is false. But I'm not sure it would be worth it for you.

Isn't this about the magic trick?

But back to the original question, is it possible for you to see the method of the magic part by looking at the solve.
Well, we can see it. I can think of several ways to pull this off, including a wrongly stickered cube, a video cut, or some sleight of hand to execute some moves with the toss.

In any case, good luck. Just don't look like you're peeking.
(Also, on behalf of the cubing community: if you're asked about the trick and don't want to reveal it, just be mysterious and silent instead of misrepresenting what can be done with cubing.)

actually it's a magic trick(well, fake blindsolve) disquised as a speedblindsolve disquised as a magic trick, I never tried to pass it off as a speedblindsolve to you, just to the non-magician and non-speedsolver audience

I'm not sure we'd be as upset if you hadn't put "speedblind" in the title.
yes, that was a bad idea. That's why I asked earlier to add [fake] or something like it to it
As Kirjava said, that is false. But I'm not sure it would be worth it for you.
it could be possible if I mark the fake pieces, but it would be harder then a normal blindsolve or even speedblind to memo
Isn't this about the magic trick?
well, actually it's about not spotting the secret of the magic trick while still doing the solve

I wish I could do it with pure sleight of hand, or use a video cut on stage

as far as I know I've always stated it's rehearsed
