I need nice R perms. The 2H ones suck for OH. I get 7-10 seconds on them. Too much regripping for F or B turns. Also, how to get faster at G's? I get stuck on the double layer turns some times. Average about 9 on them and best try of about 6.
A question for Jason Baum:
R2 U’ R2 U’ R2 d R U R’ B2 R U’ R’
I also use that Y alg for OH. What's a nice way to deal with the B2?
Thanks.
If I get all these cleared up, Sub-2:30 OH PLL time attack should be easy.

fanwug
that question for jason baum is not OK
there's a mistake in the notation
because i cannot solve Y perm with that

EDIT:

It works
i use the one of lofty, and i can do it in sub 4 seconds

so I answer before Jason:D

R2 U' R' U R U' (x' z') L' U' R U' R' U' L U

Nice alg! I may choose to relearn yet another alg. I may consider to switch to this for 2H also. Good Y perms are so difficult to find. The standard one is too long, and the optimal has annoying B2.
Now for R and G...

Thanks! I knew he had a site, but I didn't know that he had OH algs.
I guess I will learn some of them. Learning several algs for every situation is a pain.
Time to memo your Y, his F, R, and G. My other algs are actually fine!

Thanks!
I just got a 34.92 nonlucky! I also fully converted to your Y perm.
Which F perm is better?
R U R' U' R' U R U2 R' L' U R U' L U' R U' R' (Lofty)
or
L R'2 U R U R'2 U' R' U' R'2 U' R U'2 L' U R' ( FELIX)
Both are long and smooth. It's very difficult to dicide which to learn.

Also, for Sébastien's R perms, There are D turns. D' has always been kind of awkward for me with left hand. I do it like z' R'. Still it's much better than the F in the 2H perm.

I love how all these algs are credited to me...
The Y I got from Tomy and the F I got from Stefan, should i list that on my site? the COLL are the only algs I found myself... and some other algs I haven't posted yet I found too but thats for the future.
I'm going to practice Sebastian's R's cause I can sub-4 the normal ones always and sometimes sub-3 but they are still kinda awkward.

L R'2 U R U R'2 U' R' U' R'2 U' R U'2 L' U R' ( FELIX)
I found that, and then Harris mentioned it's on Felix's site. See here for my execution (I do the first listed way: L R2 U R U R2 U' R' U' R2 U' R U2 z U' R u').

The way I execute my G's:
  • RUR' y' R2u'RU'R'UR'z'lU2 / LUL' y R2u'RU'R'UR'z'lU2
  • R2u'RU'RUR'D x'U2'rU'r'
  • L'U'L zxU2'rU'RUR'Ur'd2 / R'U'R zx'U2'rU'RUR'Ur'd2
  • zU2'rU'RU'R'Ur'U2x'U'RU

Hey fanwuq, if you still want to use that Y perm, I just do the B2 as x' U2 x. The alg that you switched to is pretty nice though! I switched to that alg for 2H a while ago but never switched my OH Y perm for some reason.

By the way, I'm considering the following for my OH R:

R' U R U2 L U' R' U L2 U R2 U' z U R u'
R' U R U R' U' R' D' R U R' D R U2 R
R' U2 R' D' R U' R' D R U R U' R' U' R
R U R' D' R U2 R' D R U R2 U R U R' U2 R

i do this one

L R'2 U R U R'2 U' R' U' R'2 U' R U'2 L' U R' ( FELIX)

i also learned the other because i was told it was faster, but i could never get sub 4 (and its not very funny when, after learning a long algorithm and practise it, you find out is not good :))

i dont do sub 4 very often with this one, though is faster than the other one (in my opinion)

R' U2 R' D' R U' R' D R U R U' R' U' R

That one is nice!
Also, I prefer the standard 2H F alg over all OH F algs that I've tried...

Ha! I inverted Felix's alg and learned that because I thought that it felt better. But now, I think I might relearn the R. Perhaps one of the LUR algs at opticubes.com.
I learned both OH F perms.
The 2H one still has the best single time (6.36, sometimes get over 9 if stuck). But Lucas/Felix's is better on average (did not use timer, but looked at clock and got about 7 every time). Lofty/Stefan's didn't feel as good, it was too long (6.69, gets really tiring and average about 9). By my current turning speed, algs with fewest moves is better than a longer one with better fingertricks. I guess I'm fine with F perm for now. I can't seem to get over 2.5-3.5 tps on any alg, so F isn't so bad.
The G's, I'll consider Lucas's way of execution.

Hi all

I enjoy to see here many good algs I 've never seen before. I never thaught about inversing or reversing my algs. My LL algs are based on the same corner scheme (see my page), but there are many ways to improve them for OH.
Btw I'm not a real specialist of OH but I think 3 Slices algs are the best we can find for OH. I'm still working on the D' move with ring finger(I use left hand for OH) but almost all the time I can rotate the cube and do a R'(combined with a U/U' move in most cases). Notice that 2 of my G perms can be done without doing D'(You can do Uw' instead at the beginning or the end of the alg). For the 2 remaining(if you have not enough dexterity) you can rotate the cube and do R' instead of D'.
Same thing for Y,R and F perm.

Have fun, sebastien

Sebastien,
Thanks, your site is very nice! I'm really interested in multislotting. I try to do that in some Fridrich style FMC attempts and I can usually get in the mid-40s in move count. But I can't really do it in speed solving. I would like to use it in speedsolving. But how usable is it really? Would you really look at the cases as algs, or would you just think quickly and apply some sort of general rule?
I think it was mentioned that you should learn all the OLL's first. I'm trying to avoid that. I've been looking at orienting last 2 slots as Petrus and somehow solve them both at the same time.

Also, thanks to Jason for suggesting to change to that Y alg for 2H. It's very fast! My average decreased from 3.3 to 2.7 from the switch!

Hi Wuqiong, thanks for all your comments. My website is going to evolve a lot this summer thanks to some friends, with a better design, and more and more stuffs(ELL algs, CLL algs, Guimond method...maybe blind?) and many other features.
For multislotting, I think it isn't the right topic, all I can say is that multislotting is much more easier to practice and apply on OH. You just have to work with DRUL moves(same thing for LL to my mind). THE THING is to always understand what you are doing( http://www.cubeloop.com/php/cube/expert.php?chapter=f2l&subchapter=multislot see the 4 first groups and try to understand how it works...then cube and cube and cube...
I think that OH is the best way to practice looking ahead and try to add some tips on your solves(like MS, F2LL,Non-matching pairs,etc...) without having any pause.

OH RULES...and now i just look for 2 better OLL algs and re-learn some algs(i dont have many time because i'm practicing guimond to be sub20 again(tuned guimond in fact) and Roux(tuned Roux in fact)...lot of job!!! i'm also working on FMC...all these things will be online in maybe 2-3 monthes:)

PS:My favorite "ugly" PLL -> Y : R' U' R U' L U'2 R' U'2 L' U'2 R U' L U' L'

Cool! I can't wait to see how it would look!
Multislotting seems to be a very fun summer project! I'm going to practice and read more about it.
I'm starting to finish learning OLL now. I got 23 down already. Not too bad. I can avoid all orient 4 edge cases. so, I'm actually half way there. I'm almost sub-40 on average now! Thanks!

for my left R perm i just do zUR2U'R2U'F"UR"URFU2R works well for me with the F turns cause my thumbs are freakishly long for some reason
