Gu Hongs Aren't That Good...

Dear Forum.

I've seen a lot of posts like "Gu Hong is the best cube", etc.
But seriously? I mean, its amazing. I agree, but there is NO BEST CUBE. I mean, theres a bunch of noobs going from storeboughts to Gu Hongs, and of course Gu Hongs amazing, but its all up to preference.
Like, I love my Gu Hongs but I get faster times with my Diansheng lubed with lubix. While the Gu Hong IS an amazing cube for sure, but you can't say it is the best cube until you've tried every cube, and it still is a matter of opinion.

I find the personal preference bit unrealistic. Something is the best. The problem in finding it is that we are all biased judges. Cuber A is rough and choppy. Cuber B is extremely accurate. Cuber A needs something that can take a corner and Cuber B needs a lot of speed since he doesn't really require corner cutting. Not all cubes are geared towards the same one type of cuber. I do believe that one cube does not fit all and hence there is not best for everyone but there must be a cube that has all the great attributes a speed cube needs, and outclasses all other speed cubes in the process. There are best cubes for certain people, not everyone.

I get about the same times with all my cubes as my GuHong. (Personal preference all the way)
I think the majority of your times improve from the method (and practice) not so much the cube.

Not everyone's Guhong is the same (different tensions, different amount of lube, etc.) so maybe yours isn't as good as other people's.

Can we agree that if such a poll was constructed, that the Dayan Guhong would win, and therefore the Dayan Guhong would be the current best 3x3x3 cube for speedcubers in general?

I mean, it's all personal preference. I know people who prefer the AV over the Guhong. Guhongs are very good cubes, in my opinion the best out there, but it comes down to which cube you like the most. Most people like Guhongs the best.
