Alright everyone, so i got challenged by one of my friends that i couldnt solve the cross for a scramble in under 7 moves so i accepted and omg did i get myself into some trouble. i just couldnt do it! i got 7 move cross over like 5 times but just COULD NOT get 6. and i even try Acube after that and it kept screwing up so i couldnt do it. Lets see if ANYONE on here can. using half turn metrics of course.

Scramble with cross colour on bottom.

Scramble: LRD'BFRD'F'

Good Luck!

Mabey it isnt possible. But i havnt tried it yet ill post my results.

Yeah i started thinking it isnt possible as well, all crosses are supposed to be possible under 7 moves but i dont think that counts as half turn metrics too. im sure its possible using other metrics but try only half turn metrics. so M equals 2 moves causes its basically like L R'.

I'm not really sure what you mean, but all cross are possible in under 9 moves, not 7.
And if you wanna solve the cross for D on this scramble, there isn't a solution for under 7 moves.

x2 B' R' L' F' = 6

This is one of the cases that's impossible to do. haha. 98%(I think) of all the crosses can be solved in 7 moves OR less.

and i even try Acube after that and it kept screwing up so i couldnt do it.
Code:
Enter a cube configuration:
UF UR UB UL DF DR DB DL FR FL BR BL UFR URB UBL ULF DRF DFL DLB DBR
BD @? @? @? @? LD DF RD @?? @??

[snip]

depth 5...
depth 6...
depth 7...
F R' B' D' B D2 R (8q, 7f*, 7s)
F' L B D B' D2 L' (8q, 7f*, 7s)
Done. (2 solutions found)

lol, this is hard for me to even attempt because I like to do a lot of preserving so when I see the c/e pair and all the other stuff that is connected I want to preserve them instead of ignore them just to solve the cross which means I would probably get 10 moves on this.

But anyway, as we can see, it is impossible to do in under 6 moves so it isn't really a fair challenge.
