Hi everyone:cool: I recently got back into cubing (think I cubed for around 2-3 month) and was wondering how I could get faster on my solves. I know generally I need to work on my cross and f2l but it would be nice if someone could give me indepth tips. It would help a lot =) TY.;) (below is a recent vid I did of my solves.

- Practice solving the cross optimally. You might want to use some software to help you with that. I think Ron's cube solving applet is easy to find optimal cross solutions
- Practice making full use of all your preinspection time. It's easy to get lazy and think you know everything when you planned the cross, but with a little more concentration, you can see where your first pair will end up in many cases.
- Practice minimizing your moves. Solve without timing, count the number of moves, actively try to use a minimal amount of moves, try to find your own shortcuts.
- Practice slow solving. If your average is 20 seconds, try to solve a cube in no less then 25 seconds a few times. Then gradually speed up and push your own limits.

why does your AV look like it reacts soooo much better then mine? yours looks like it moves with much less friction then mine and it sounds.... well.. not that lubed. (at least not as lubed as mine is)

also im averaging pretty much the same as you... we should get talking on msn or skype and try to improve together :)

I sanded the corners to make it a Hayan Memory, and lubed it with Jig-A-Loo. Yours might be at different tensions? I put mine pretty loose but I dont really pop my cube that much. Also I got my cube from Cube-N-Joy but I don't that would make a difference.
And about msn and sykpe just PM me about it because Iam interested =p

hmm, how many thousand times has a thread like this been made?

It's over 9000.

I was actually going to say the EXACT same thing.

OVER 9000! THERE'S NO WAY THAT CAN BE WRONG!

anyway, you need to use the search bar and lurk more.

You guys are vcool. Seriously. He had a question so he posted in the "Speedcubing Help/Questions" forum. You look at thread. You think thread is stupid. You post. You think you're witty. You fail at life. It's little tards (AMG, DID HE JUST SAY "TARDS"?!?! Yes. Yes, I did.) like you guys that make this forum difficult for any new member who hasn't lurked for the past 5 years. I am tired of you people that think that's hilarious to bag on another member when they ask a legitimate question. When someone is just plain stupid, then yea, I'm all for that, but this guys tries to ask a question on how to get faster and gets answers in the form of a very over-used meme and sarcasm. 11 year olds flexing their e-muscles. Es debil.

I think the point they are trying to make is that the search function would be a useful tool.

I like the fact he gave us a video, so we could point things out. At least he didn't do the typical "I'm averaging 35s, plz help me get faster." type of thread.

This, this, and this might be helpful.
