I've watched videos on the GuHong cube, and it looks great.
But some of the videos mention that it's not recommended for beginner's because it may be too fast, but it's great for intermediate cubers.
How do I know what type of cuber I am?

I found the GuHong too fast for me and preferred the "clickiness" of the A-V untill I reached sub-30. I constantly overshot since the GuHong is really fast.

Then again, I'm not a good speed cuber (more of the "solver" type) so in your case, you could get used to it right away. It is the best cube out there, so getting used to it early could be a good idea.

would I be intermediate? I can solve the cube in an avg of 24 seconds

If it helps, here's a video of me doing a Rubik's cube from last night:

The cube is my current cube, basically very crap.
I have to exert a lot of force to do a simple finger trick.
My friends, who aren't cubers, found it very difficult to turn when I brought it into school.

I used a store bought for a couple of months until I was averaging under a minute, then moved into DIY cubes. What UnAbusador said can be very true. It is easy to overshoot a GuHong. I like the Lingyun, it kinda has that AV clickyness.

With my crappy Eastsheen, it's very easy to undershoot.

I seriously think all my cubes are confused. My GuHong is clicky my Lingyun is silent and smooth and my GHII is loud?

OT: I think a beginner is when you solve with the beginners method, and are inconsistent with the "more advanced method"

I think being a beginner has nothing to do with what cube you should use. If you overshoot with the guhong, then either adjust the tension or adjust your turning style. I really don't like when people label a cube as "Beginner" or "Intermediate".
Get a good cube right now, so you don't have to waste your money buying a good one later.

I think any cube would be better for you then the one you use. I got my Guhong when I averaged 40 or so and it brought my times down like crazy. It died when I reached 25 average though. I need a new Guhong :(

Your GuHong died???
NOOOOOO!!!!
I thought of it as the King of all Cubes.

Same. There are no such things as beginner cubes or intermediate cubes, but there are BAD cubes and Good Cubes. I don't get why some people think you aren't good enough for a cube.

Have you lubed your cube at all? It doesn't look/sound like it. If you do get a GuHong, either get maru/lubix or some form of spray silicone (CRC or Jigaloo) because even the GuHong isn't that great unlubed. Do not use vaseline or WD40. I don't believe that skill level has anything to do with what cube you should get, so I say go ahead as long as you plan to lubricate it when you get it (though, even without it I would say the GuHong is better than your current cube).

Also, why're you using an online stopwatch? qqTimer or gqTimer are great online timers for cubing with the latter allowing you to save/graph your sessions.

It came lubed...
But that was a couple of years ago.
I'm quite new to cubing, so didn't know which lube to get and what timer to use.
Not going to lube this cube anyway, seems like I'll be getting a GuHong.
How do you know how much the lube a cube?

why is everyone saying an unlubed GuHong isn't that great?...when I got mine (It was in a DIY kit) it was extremely good without lube, the lube just made it slightly better :)
