Looking at the timer during a solve

Which puzzles do you look at the timer during a solve?

I only look at the timer if I'm doing REALLY bad (I can tell by how fast my F2L is). If I'm doing real good, and don't look at the timer, because it messes up my concentration.

Hey Feanaro I see you're back at the forum after like two weeks of being gone.... :confused:

Sometimes I don't look at the timer even after the solve, if the solve went very bad. :)

:) Been there, done that.

Yep! also pressing the reset button even before the end of the solve to be sure I can't see the time.

I newer look at the timer during a solve... or I always does, the two diods flickering in front of me I always see and it is rather irritating :(

I look at the timer after certain major steps: F2L, OLL, PLL, centers, edge-pairing, EP memo, whole BLD memo.

I asked the judge how long it's been on my multi attempt twice. ;)

I decided to check the last option just for fun, though.

At home: I don't use the timer except for;
During weekly competition: I check during 4x4x4 OLL Parity, 5x5x5 after centers and during parity, for multi-blind after every memorystep
During real competitions: I only check when I think something is really special. Like finishing pairing on 5x5x5 after 1:33 :) which is still not a good idea because Erik will tell you to keep solving
