Unofficial competiton results.

Hmmm, maybe I shall correct myself, I just understood it is not a WCA page, it is under Speedcubing.com. WCA has not yet decided if the organization shall support these events or not.

But let's say it's a "WCA" page anyway until someone finds a good and short acronym for it =)

Ron had shown us a sneak-peek a while ago...

I'm not sure what to think of it. Now that WCA events are official according to the regs, the database represents haphazard historical opportunities. I could easily get a sub-20 speed BLD, even sub-15, but I'm not expecting an opportunity for another few years.

So, I hope the WCA handles this well (as they normally do). Really, I'm in favor of making all these results public and easily accessible.

(In fact, I support keeping track of all historical recognized times, even a log file of minor delta typo corrections, and certain, uh, "modified results." This would give full information of all the official times recognized by the WCA at any time, without much further logistic trouble for them. I am certain that most important changes will eventually have to come out anyhow...)

Why not do it in your next competition? Just skip out on some main event and do it as a side event, that's how Geir normally does it.
I already do 4x4x4 BLD this way. I don't think I could do speed BLD (in addition/instead), as the WCA won't officially accept the results, and the event is not covered in the regulations.
Should I write my own and ask the organization team to accommodate me even more? (I don't think I even deserve 4BLD attempts anymore - they're getting worse.) In California, the competitions are organized by college students, and they have to handle the entire competition on their own.
(I judge now, too. But at Berkeley Spring, I was either busy, or there were enough judges when I was available.)

Lucas, the rules are easy to make up, use the normal BLD rules with the exeption that only the solving time is mesured (WCA does not have to approve those rules because it is not an WCA event (yet)). That and a competiton is all you need to beat that WR.

Exept skills of course :)

BTW: as soon as possible (SOC 2008 probably) I will do the same thing to beat the WR for Magic OH. I know I can do it easily, but also Erik J is sub 3 so it's not so sure I will get the record. I will also do Master Magic OH, (only Milan has done it faster than me unoff, Milan was at SOC last year, maybe he will come also this year? ... it would make a nice battle =)
