I don't understand why M2/R2 works and how it works. Is there an online explanation for M2 edges? I looked at Macky's site, but I don't really understand it. Same with Stefan's site.

I currently use 3OP corners and edges.

I think that you can figure out how/why M2/R2 works for yourself.
Just play with it, its fairly easy to understand.

But a couple of things i want to ask first.
What exactly do you not understand?

Do you understand how the setup moves work?
Do you understand how to memo the M ring edges?

Also I do not personally use R2,well not yet. I just use OldPochman corners.

I do not understand how the M2 would transport edges to their correct locations.

I wasn't planning to learn R2; I feel 3OP corners is superior to that.

Edit: I now understand why M2 works, but I don't understand how the set-up moves are.

You don't need to understand how they work, just use the algorithms on Stefan's site.

The set-up moves just move the piece to the position you are shooting to. You have to be more specific as to what you don't understand.

Eric Limeback's tutorial is really good for M2.

You must bring the UL position to UB without changing anything else on the M-slice. That's why you do U'LUL'. If you just do U', you'll immediately see that you've messed up other pieces.
This always goes like this: set up next position to UL without changin anything else on the M-slice.

Setups must not change anything in the M-slice besides UB. Doing U' would change UF as well and you'd get collateral damage. And actually it's U and LU'L'U, not U' and U'LUL'.

Edit: double ninja all the way
