I was born in Brazil, and am Brazilian, but I have lived in the U.S. for pretty much my entire life. I'm 23, and moved here with my parents when I was 3.
If I were to compete in a WCA event, what country would they put my timing under? When they put your name on the website, they put the country, and your National Rank. Would they put me on the Brazilian National Ranks, or would I be put on the U.S. one?
I want to be put in the U.S. ranks, since this is where I was raised, but if my only citizenship is from Brazil, does that mean that my times will only be reflected upon the Brazilian ranks?
In the end, are you classified as what you are, or where you live?
Or is it just a situation where they ask me, and I tell them, and it's left at that?
Or, do they just put me under U.S., since the competition I would be attending would be held in the U.S.?
Thanks in advance.
