I recently made a kind of new method. It's more of a mash-up of a bunch of different methods rather then a completely new one. It is basically 5 steps.

First let me explain why I made this. Very soon after I learnt to solve a 3x3 using Fridrich I found other methods such as Petrus and Roux. I always wanted to learn Roux but my times were so bad with it I never practiced. I ended up learning almost all of the Fridrich algorithms. I still wanted to use Roux but I thought it would be a waste if I only used it. So I made this method up.

STEP 1:
Build a 1x2x3 on the left and a 1x2x2 on the right. The block on the left should be in the bottom two layers and the on the right should be be too. The one on the right can be easier on if it is in the back right, but it doesn't really matter.

STEP 2:
Build a pair so that the block on the right can be extended to a 1x2x3, just like in roux, but while doing this orient all of the other edges. I find it easy to do this by orienting the ones on the bottom first then doing the ones on the top.

STEP 3 :
Use one of twenty-eight F2LL algorithms to insert the last part of the block and orient the remaining four corners.

STEP 4:
Place the bottom 2 edges and correct centers to complete the first two layers.

STEP 5:
Use a PLL algorithm to finish the cube.

So this is my method. It doesn't have very many algorithms (50 I think) but it is capable of fast times. Obliviously this method doesn't replace other methods, but I find it very fun and easy.

hey guys I made a new method it's a bunch of arbitary steps mashed together I havn't learned any of it or tested to see if it's actually viable but here is my description what do you think

Any evidence specific to the actual method?

My average on Fridrich is 18 and my average on Roux is 35. After only 3 days of practicing this method and using only two-look F2LL I have achieved 25 seconds average.

The reason why you're not really getting a good reception is that your method has been suggested several times in slightly different forms. There have been a few people (usually inexperienced with Roux) who suggest doing the F2B of Roux conventionally, then inserting DF and DB and solving like Fridrich. This is essentially what you've suggested, with a few minor differences. People also don't really appreciate suggestions for methods that haven't been tested.

That said, I'd like to ask the experienced Roux users on the forum exactly why inserting DF and DB is a bad idea, as opposed to the conventional CMLL + LSE.

25 seconds doesn't really show whether a method is capable of fast times. People can average faster than that with a LBL method.

i have a slight varient to simplifie the above method after step 1 make sure an oriented edge is in the place were the new pair should go orient remaing edges like roux and then buld pair using 2 gen moves
