Need to see if there's any interest; whether or not it's worth pursuing.

There's a lot of places around here that I can try to get a venue, off and on campus. However, I will still need some sort of estimate so that I can decide what kind of venue to get.

There's an airport in the city, but you will probably need at least one layover to get here, as well as taxi fare from the airport (or hotel shuttle if you're staying overnight)... it's also about 3 hours from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and the PA-NJ border.

If enough people are willing to come, I'm considering organizing it in the spring - possibly late March / early April (essentially between spring break and finals), but may consider trying to get one for one late this fall or during the winter as well, again, with enough interest.

I'll be looking for a competition to go to on March 19 and March 26, so either of those would be great. This fall's a bit crowded in the northeast already, but I don't think anything's planned for December.

Thanks Tim, I was thinking of MIT's spring break when I mentioned the spring but haven't looked them up yet. ;)

Possibly. It will depend on when and what events, of course. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, though, so I would expect it to be a relatively small competition.

Events would depend on the number of competitors. Dan should be coming regardless, if that's any hint for side events. Any suggestion for events?

I might be there...it's almost 3 hours for me.

Yeah, I know, the drive sucks; I live in your area. :p

I would definitely be able to go. If you need help organizing, the Susquehanna University cubing club and I would be available.

Doug

Sweet, I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

Well, looks like there's certainly enough interest from people willing to travel, I'll see about garnering interest on-campus. I've seen cubes around, but I'm not quite sure how popular speedcubing actually is... 45k students at main campus is a lot. >_>;;

If you had one, there'd be a good chance I'd go because Penn State is only 4 hours away from me. And I know you would want me to be there.
