What do you think the limit (seconds) is from learning Full PLL, 2LOLL and intuitive F2L? I'm stuck at 16s, and I know many other people have the same specs as me, so I wanted to ask... what do you think the limit is?

recent average

15.29, 17.86+, 14.64, 14.48, 18.09, 17.46, 16.53, 14.28, 19.00, 16.43, 16.56, 16.50

stats: (hide)
number of times: 12/12
best time: 14.28
worst time: 19.00

current avg5: 16.50 (σ = 0.05)
best avg5: 15.93 (σ = 1.39)

current avg12: 16.38 (σ = 1.19)
best avg12: 16.38 (σ = 1.19)

session avg: 16.38 (σ = 1.19)

there's no limit in time if you ask me, learn when you want, your mind is your limit :) just get good algs that suits you

well... i want to say sub-10, but for a NORMAL person, the limit is probably higher... maybe 11 or 12 seconds. clearly, some people in the world are capable of sub-10 with 2 look last layer, but if you add 1 second to everybody's times, there really aren't that many sub-10 averages left over.

i think learning oll saves you about 1 second on average for your overall average time. 2 look OLL combines 2 easy OLLs together, so it's already very fast. on the other hand, though, OLL are actually really easy to learn. i was reluctant for a long time, but when i got down to it, i memorized over half of them in about 2 days (of course, it took me a lot longer to recognize them instantly and execute them somewhat quickly).

I would just recommend learning full OLL, start adding a few algs every day or so. A lot of them are really easy to learn and it's gets easier the closer you get to finishing them. So many similarities between so many OLL algs. Plus I think it made cubing more fun just because it's more cases. For the 2 look OLL algs I used to use my OLL could take 25+ moves sometimes, now I use at max about 15 moves. It'll definitely make you 1-2 seconds faster after a little while of getting used to the algs, recognition and getting out of the habit of just doing OELL reco out of f2l.

Wait a year and that statement will probably be dead wrong.

If you're going to eventually learn OLL, I highly recommend doing it as soon as you can, or take your time learning them. Learning the rest of the OLLs too quick screws your recog (like incessantcheese said), and I suffer from that even still sometimes now. There are quite a few times I want to say screw it and 2 look it, which is what I'll do in a comp if I can't instantly snap to the muscle memory for the alg. I think you should start learning them now but still take your time, that way your times don't suffer in the end (I am on the edge of getting sub20 and sometimes I get a 25+ due to terrible recog, but I sit through it and log the solve even if I have a 7 second OLL :/).
