I was thinking of that during last f2l pair, you would use an alg to orient all the corners, dont worry about edges, and then 1 look last layer.

zbll does edges oriented and then 1LLL, to me, logically (to me anyway) corner orientation would result in less cases (though if you ZZ the f2l then the edge orientation of LL is very easy) and ultimately less 1LLL algs. because there are 2 posssible edge orientations, 3 corner. logically less algs would be required for 1LLL if corners were oriented and not edges? im sure someone has thought of this before yet i dont know what to even search for

also, side note to any zbll'ers (4chan *cough*) how do you recognize your cases? aka how do you differentiate? I meant to ask you at nats before i left but it slipped my mind

I dont use ZBLL but I think the recog is the same as COLL and then you recog the edge cycle.
stachu taught me how to recog COLL. u look at the 4 corner stickers and see what matches etc etc? and ok ty, that sounds like a good way.
Isn't this WV? Or CLS or something?
no idea, im asking :p
If edges are already oriented and you do winter variation you get 1 look LL (only have to do PLL's)

yeah but assuming you do say (fridrich) f2l and dont give a crap about edges and then just corner orient during last pair. then outa the (hundreds?) of cases, you would 1LLL (edges not oriented (on purpose anyway) and corners oriented on purpose)

It's like WV but Mr. Reese made it sound like you orient the corners while inserting the last pair. The WV algs only work after you form the pair. Orienting corners while inserting the last pair from all the angles without first forming the pair is what ZZ-c tries to accomplish. That has a lot of algs.

well im up for different ways of doing it, though optimally corner orientatino would be done by the time you insert that way you can 1LLL, because if you just insert pair and then corner orient and then 1LLL its really 2LLL made really hard by the mass number of algs for the "1L"

yeah, ultimately itd be lower number of cases then regular zbll with edges oriented. at the very least, doing solves with this would be intereseting. id like to generate algs for that

although not quite sure what would be better, corner orientation after f2l is done, or during last pair. i really hope there is an optimal way to do it during last pair because otherwise itd just be 2LLL and im not gonna learn that much algs for "1LLL" if its techniclly 2LLL. hell, id rather just do regular zbll in that case haha :D
edit-# of cases for zbll right in my sig? also, is COLL really needed? I know it helps identify zbll but..do i need it?

I'm assuming your talking about my post and I was talking about your variant not regular ZBLL.

naw the edit was just a random question, im wondering if my informatino is correct with the # of cases i put down. i understood u were talking about the variant :p

Dude...COLL cases are just the best ZBLL cases for the orientation. And no, OLL does not count for ZBLL. ZBLL is either 493 or 501 depending on how you think about it.

And your "new" idea has poor recognition (and is not really new. you think us ZB hopefuls didn't think of this. I spent at least a month trying to make it work). COLL case be recognized from just the U and F faces. ZBLL only needs FU, FUR, RUF, and RU after that.

i never asked if OLL counted for zbll lol. i already know it doesnt

and i said in OP i didnt think this was "new".

learn2read. i was wondering if this had actually been put in use and there was more information out somewhere. and ok, so COLL cases are part of zbll? then ill learn it.

dont rage at a newb who wants to learn. not many people know zbll so information is scarce (i doubt the knowledge of COLL being part of zbll cases is scarce information, but my statement still stands strong)

at any rate, im probably going to stick with regular zz/zbll, i was just inquiring on the matter.

edit-i guess ur OLL statement was referring to my signature. the total 78/558 is the total algs i want to learn total out of rubiks cubes. u wrongly inferred from my signature that i thought zbll has OLL in it. my total algs learned is just for my benefit

Check the wiki. It explains the recog for some of the cases.

ty i missed that part when i quickly scanned the page

i tink im going to do it exaclty like they say, thats kinda what i had in mind for recognition anyway.

guess i'll b e learning all 40 COLL first
