time cubing vs. average time

Technically I've been cubing since Jan08 so 2 years 6 months ~ 20 seconds
but I took a long break from some time in summer 08 to February 10 where I only casually cubed some mostly just to impress friends who saw my cubes in my dorm. Like heres a breakdown of my times since I started.

Jan08~had barely been cubing, just got my first cube ~2 minutes
Feb08~1 minute
Mar08~learned f2l, started PLL ~ 45 secs
June08~decent at intuitive f2l, 12/21 PLL ~ 28 secs
Feb10~30 seconds
Apr10~first comp, OK open, finished PLL ~ 24 secs
June10~finished OLL, first few sub20 avgs

In August it'll be 6 years. It took less than a month to break a minute consistently, in about three months I "brickwalled" around mid 40s. I went through pases (cube for a month, put it down for a month) after about six months or so. I had a PB of 38 seconds, this was using Keyhole method (cross on left) with bad 2LOLL algs, and even worse 2LPLL algs. Hit a new PB of 32s Black Friday 2006 or 2007 I forget which. I was using nail polish instead of stickers (and a storebought cube).

Last August I decided to learn CFOP and told myself I'd work hard at it, work + video games + a girlfriend didn't let me work that hard. I eventually bought a Type A and a Type B, PB'd around 21 seconds for a few months. Got a new PB (non-official) of 19.xy at Indiana Winter 2010.I was averaging 27 seconds, but got a 30 something in the comp.

Now I've got several low 20 averages with quite a few mid 20 averages. I'm shooting for a 24.5 or less average at Lexington, we'll see how I do. I've got an FII now, by the way.

I consider the day I started cubing to be October 30, 2009.

With that, my current time is 11:05 PM on July 29, 2010 so tomorrow (which is also my birthday) will be exactly 9 months or 3/4 of a year cubing. :)

Average is anywhere from 12.9x - 15.0x.
