Glad you all like it!!!
She's basically solving according Jasmine Lee's tutorial.
But she's only using one Sune and one U-perm for the moment (Anti-Sune is next).

Her finger tricks are funny, in a good way. :p

There is definately some funky stuff going on; crazy cube rotations, double layer turns, good use of indexfingers for U / U'.
That last thing is the only thing I am really trying to teach her but she still writsts the final U turns in the U-perm.

The thinking during F2L and while checking corner permutationis indeed cool to watch. 1st layer corners are intuitive, I deliberately did not teach endless RDR'D' repetitions.

Perhaps I could shoot a close-up video over her shoulder to see what exactly she is doing :D

Hey guys, could we perhaps...stop creeping on his daughter? kthx.

As for her crazy fingertricks, I'm sure she'll learn loads on her own. :)
Have you showed her any fast solves online to 'inspire' her?

I'd really like to see if a tutorial like meph's could keep a youngin' interested long enough to pay attention and actually learn something. :p

She has seen a few sub 10 solves on youtube and her goal is to solve it within counting "1-2-3-4-5" even tough I already told and showed her the record is "1-2-3-4-5-6-7"

But honestly speaking I think for kids the most inspiring videos are videos of other kids solving.
Which 5 year old would want to look at some old fart of like 12 years old solve a cube?
Gotta be the same age range to get the "if they can do it, I can do it" motivation.
