Ihave got a tournament the day after tomorrow(My first one!) and I cannot decide for the life of me which cube to use.

I know my one hand cube, 4x4x4 and 5x5x5. But as far as for my standard 3x3x3, I am having such a hard time deciding.

Happens every comp. At Berkeley all, I used a cube that pops so much that I made people promise to make me switch cubes if it popped (it didn't).
(Who's read Harry Potter? ;) )

At my last comp, I had a fantastic 3x3x3 DIY, though, so I had no trouble and got two great averages.

4x4x4 was annoying - I used Devin's, I think, because everybody's 4x4x4 uis better than mine...

Now, the hardest is choosing among a stiff cube, one that pops a lot, one that loses center caps every solve, one that has the wrong color scheme, etc. ;)
Probably cost me a good BLD NR (center cap popped a lot)

Anyone who's seen me at a comp knows I bring a boxful with something like 8 3x3x3's :p
(I lend a lot of them, too.)

Jason, I actually think that you need only 2 center caps, provided they're not opposites.

Hadley, I have the same cube problem everytime I cube. I have 3-4 5x5s that are all good, and I can never decide which to use. Each has its pros and cons, but I get similar times on all of them. At my last competition, I switched cubes halfway through my average...

Am I good or what for having a few cubes in total. :p
I always used:
two 3x3x3's
one 4x4x4
one 5x5x5
The rest are dead. :)

I still don´t get it why most people have so many 3x3x3 cubes, I think having two 3x3x3´s are enough and if one of them dies (you drop the cube on the ground from a fair hight with the point towards the ground) then you can prepare a new one. :)

In reality, you can have four fall off without it being ambiguous, given the ones remaining are adjacent. But really, you need to do something about your cube if four center caps fall of in the first place.

Only one of my DIYs had caps pop off, and I just glued them down. It's all good now.

I agree. I only have three cubes and i think I will give one to a friend since i find no use for three besides a cube marathon... Really only need two.
