While trying to learn a layer-by-layer beginners pyraminx method, I came across the list of last 4 edges algs, and I noticed that the first few algs are the ones that I will need for the beginner method.

However, I happened to notice that many of those algs are exactly the same case, just with AUF!
I had thought I will probably never bother to learn the full last 4 edges method, if it required an astounding 90+ algs. But after seeing that maybe all of these algs aren't actually unique cases, I think it might not be that bad at all.
Does anyone know how many algs you would have left if you take out AUF and mirrors? It suddenly sounds like it might be quite reasonable.

Would last 4 edges be a good method to advance to after I get good at the beginners LBL? Or should I try some other one?

Not really IMO. I used to do intuitive L4E for a while and that didn't really work out. LBL itself isn't a bad method considering how little algs are required. But after LBL I would learn Oka and perhaps WO, although LBL is more than capable of getting sub-6 (with a few techniques of course).

Oka ftw, but qqwref uses intuitive L4E and is pretty fast so it's really up to you.

I use LBL and my official avg is faster than his  not that it means anything though

qq uses lbl..

last time I checked his "L4E" it was more like LBL than L4E :P

I wouldn't consider L4E :P

if you want to learn L4E... why not choose IWO instead? (it's a much cooler variant with just 36 cases where you still have these mirror cases etc... so more like 18 I guess :P... and I didn't copy-paste the algs from an solver, I found them all intuitive... QQ found all his with an optimal solver, so his algs might be a bit sucky :P) IWO cases

Cool! I actually hadn't been able to find much info about most pyraminx methods. Maybe you should link these algs in the wiki?

Oh I wasn't answering your question particularily, just throwing it out there. Pyraminx, although very fun IMO, isn't a popular event, and there are still huge gaps in the rankings, and much of the methods are left unexplored.

I support the idea of adding these to the wiki, and Odder can you please publish some tutorials of IWO, I just looked it over and it seems very interesting :D
