Haiyan's cube Alpha (V)?

Ok, I have a few questions to ask. I might get the Haiyan's cube Alpha (V), so
Is it a good speed cubing cube? is it worth getting? and is it a DIY?

I've never had a DIY cube or anything so I don't know that much about it.

By Haiyan's cube alpha V do you mean an unmodded AV? Unmodded ones suck so you have to sand down the corners yourself. After that and lube they are amazing IMO. Yes, it is a DIY so you can adjust the tension etc.

It costs a lot if you buy it pre-sanded (which is a Haiyan Memory), but I've heard it's pretty easy to sand the corners yourself. If you really want to get the Haiyan Memory, you can go to http://cubehaiyan.com/.

Sand it yourself. Its really not that hard. And it makes you feel more accomplished and the cube more personalized. Just listen to some music or something while you do it.

I find that my haiyan doesn't stay in good condition..I have on haiyan that;s almost destroyed (and i mean that as in, it doesn't perform well) where as my 2nd haiyan is getting there

I hope my FII gets here soon.

how long have you had your haiyan and how often do you use it a day? i have one that's a month old so it'd be nice to get an idea of when i should buy a new one.

I had had my haiyan for..maybe a month, though granted, I practiced around 3 hours a day, rigorous solving, I was rough on the edges (I have a lot more lockups now)

My 2nd one is getting there :-(.

yeah...not really HARD per say to do the corner mod....just takes a while....but take your time and do it right, it works great....

The mod is not really hard, and I personally used a pocket knife to scrape the corners until the are round. Works pretty good and after it is lubed it is a beastly cube. Also the mod took around 45 minutes to do, if you do it properly and take your time.

You might as well make yourself useful and respond to the question...

Right now, FII is my favorite, though I'm getting a Haiyan memory. If I remember, I'll tell you if it's worth the extra money instead of the unmodded AV
