I ordered an old style type A for my nephew because his store bought Rubiks is just too stiff for him right now and the lack of corner cutting bothers him (especially after using my dyi's). I have a few Rubiks Dyi's, couple of 25th anniversarys and an original Magic Cube from the very early 80's to compare the White cube against and I must say.........WOW.

No lube, straight out of the box, with a only screw adjustments it turns amazing well; it feels more sturdy than the Rubik's Dyi; it is very controllable with no apparent lockups; it looks freaking cool. His colour scheme is a way-out-there-cubesmith-special with chromes and blacks which isn't my thing but if it makes him do the cube more than I am all for it.

anyway....I am jealous now because he has a nicer cube than mine. I am really surprised at how nice these cubes. Think I will have to order a few for myself. Not bad delievery either -- February 25 to yesterday.

Are you referring to the new type A with the additional edge caps and new style corners as seen here?

If so, I've been thinking about getting one myself. I have a black puzzleproz type A which I'm assuming is the old style. It would be nice if puzzleproz carried the new style since their shipping is quite fast in comparison (about a week), but last time I checked they didn't carry it.

Are all the cube4you type A cubes the newer style? I prefer black but transparent would be pretty cool too.

How difficult is it to pop the new type A cubes? I seldom pop my old type A but it does happen when my fingers are slippery and I cut corners fast.

yea, I have one and it is really good. Now if you lube it it becomes even better!

heh, I gave one away ^_^

I reckon they're the best type of cube to give as a gift :-)

They turn extremely well and therefore wouldn't make the users experience so "crap" with cheaper cubes.

Personally I don't like color recognition with White :-/

Tim.
