Hey guys,

My name is Rian, I started speedcubing (semi)seriously when i heard about the Oklahoma Open. I entered with the hopes of just not getting last, and i think i did quite well. I've had a couple months of practice and i'm progressing quickly, i suppose.

If you're interested in how i did at the competition:Click Here

As for methods:

2x2x2: Guimond? I orient corners, bring corners to correct layer the PBL

3x3x3: Petrus, I really enjoy bock building, but i've been slowly making my way over to Fridrich, mostly using 2 look oll, really used to already having the edges oriented when i finish F2L. Having started with Petrus, it made it a lot easier to be color neutral and nearly always have an extended cross, which i like.

4x4x4 - 7x7x7: Reduction/ Petrus, i still can't get within stackmat time with my 7x7x7 though.

Pyraminx: Layer by layer i suppose.

Megaminx: Petrus style solves.

I'm here to learn, make a few friends, and hopefully fully enjoy this little hobby i found, i love it.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?

Hopefully I'll see you around,

Rian

welcome you are already pretty fast how long are you cubing now

I've been able to solve the cube for a couple years, maybe 2 years, but never attempted to be quick about it. A friend showed me how to solve it in high school, i thought it was fun, tried new ways of solving it, in my ignorance i thought i had created the petrus method until i looked up ways to speed solve :fp

When i learned about the Oklahoma open in march is when i started to try to get fast, so it's been about a month since i started speedcubing, it's incredibly fun and i find the cube endlessly fascinating.

Glad to hear you like speedsolving so much! Welcome to the forums!

I'm William, and I placed right above you in Pyraminx at the Oklahoma Open. :p
Links to my YouTube channel and WCA profile are under my screen name. See you at the next comp! Practice, practice, practice. :p

Where (in general) do you live? I'm in the Dallas area, and so are a few other cubers that can be found on these forums. :)

I live in Mustang, Oklahoma, southwest part of OKC.

And if there's ever a competition within a feasible distance, i'll see you there, i don't have quite the tenacity of Ryan, driving down from Iowa, ridiculous lol
