I am still working on learning full Fridrich with 2 hands. I know about 1/3 or PLL, 1/5 of OLL and 1/3 of f2l. My times are still in the 1:00-1:30 range with Fridrich... I can actually get a bit quicker with strictly beginner method, but I never use it because I'm concentrating on Fridrich.

My question is, do you think it would be better to learn OH in conjunction with 2H, or do you believe it would just be confusing. I can personally think of arguments both for and against it, but I wanted to hear it from some people who already know both methods.

There are no reasons why you can't do OH now. You don't need to learn anything to do OH. Some people learn different algs, but those are the very fast people, you can still get relatively fast using the same old algs.

EDIT:
thanks to Johannes for spotting my big typo.

1/3 of F2L?.............. So how do you do the other 2/3 cases, LBL style?

I would recommend learning OH now. I didn't learn new algs until I was around or under 30 seconds so the ones you know now will be fine. Doing the algs OH could also help you actually know them better since most people just do them from memory muscle. If you transfer them to OH you will have to think about them again.
As for F2L I would recommend intuitive f2l then just algs for some of the nasty cases.

Start right away!

Yes, now! Grasp the cube with your left hand (yes, left, or if you are left haded, use the right one) and go ahead.

Seriously, you will actually learn the algs faster if you do OH rather than 2H.

The reason you shall use the "wrong" hand is that you otherwise have to mirror all of your algs. Just try do a R turn using right hand and then use left and you will understand that.

Why should a lefty learn to use the right hand? I am left handed and thus always used the left hand for OH. I think most people use R heavy algs regardless of their handedness. Plus it can be very helpful to force yourself to learn mirror's.

I'm kind of right-handed, and I use my right hand for OH cubing (although I am resonable with me left hand too). I can mirror almost all of my algorithms on the spot, so I can do them either way, although normally I just rotate the cube and do UL instead of RU.

Mr. Carson, I recommend you start doing OH whenever you feel comfortable with it. There is no specific time you should wait until before you start to do it. However, expect that if you can only solve the cube in one minute, then OH will take at least 3. If you wait until you are maybe sub-40, you're OH time will quickly get down to sub2. Or at least, I would say this is most likely the case. You could do what Lofty here did, and get you OH times as good as your 2H times iff you want, but it would take a lot more effort than first getting your 2H times down a bit, then working on OH.

Good luck!

I know the algorithms for cases in which the cross color on the corner block is facing to the left when placed above it's desired location. If the corner is oriented differently, I do [F' U F U2] or [U2 F' U' F] so that the block is back in the same place, but is setup for a case that I know.

I do OH right hand and I am right handed. I use pinky for U and Index for R and Ring for L. Works fine. I do different algs for OH because I learned bad algs for PLL, so switched to better algs, but the bad algs are easier for OH.
