Heya. I was going to buy some 3X3 tiles because I heard they were good. But how good are they? How long do they last? That I want to know just to know if they are good. Thank you.

They are good and they last a LONG time. I think textured tiles are better since the grip, but it's personal preference. The drawback is that it costs a bit, but I doesn't matter since they last a long time. I suggest you get both textured and smooth tiles from Cubesmith.

After 5-7 months, my tiles began to peel up at the edges and began to dig under my fingernails.

Once I was hurt bad enough, and decided it was time to move to stickers, which wouldn't cause minor injuries which impede cubing.

Tiles last pretty much forever. I've had them on my old type a for 2 years, and no problems (I don't use it anymore though). The problem is that they make your hands sweaty, which defeats the purpose of textured tiles.

Here. It says here.

The lifespan of the materials depends upon how often you use your cube and how well you care for it (i.e., don't leave it in the sun, get it wet, let your dog chew on it, etc.). Generally, with normal use (not speedcubing) stickers and tiles can last a year or longer.

Honestly I love textured tiles, but i need to get a new set for my cube because silly me, flipped two colors, and when i was moving them form one side to the other i like chipped them with the knife... good job me lol.

But anyway I've had smooth titles on one of my 3x3s for at least half a year and there still good.

Oh yeah I should mention that I wanted textured tiles because I love the grip way better than smooth tiles.

Mine actually started peeling a little while after I got them....but you really shouldn't base your purchase on my experience, I tend to wear things out (ok, just straight up destroy them) much faster than most people.

I agree. My nail looks funny now because a tile dug under it :(
My nails must be freakishly strong then, the same thing happened to me, but I sent the feeble tile pinging across the room.

jiggy has mighty nails.
