How do I practice PLL and oll? my LL is about 8-10 seconds.
I have tried doing the pll algs over and over again, but it just does not get faster. Can you guys help me with this?

what do you use for your LL ?? 4 Look or what????

By the 8-10 seconds, I'm guessing a very fast 4LLL, a slow 2LLL, or maybe the most likely is 1LOLL and 2LPLL. That's about what my LL was a few days ago before I started to pwn.

woah... he joined in november and "most likely is a 1 look oll and 2 look pll" he learns algs, so quick!

i use a 4LLL and a LL below 10 seconds is pretty quick for me X), :) but i hate hate N PLLs =="

Just name one person who actually does that.

On topic: I'd say best way to practise is to make sure that you execute the algs with out chopping or locking up. When you've mastered that, you can practise speeding them up. But they will most likely be much faster just by doing them fluently.

I do that very often. I use edge control to skip edge-OLL, than do 1LOLL and finish with 2LPLL.

But I agree that a normal progression is like this:
Beginner: 4 alg last layer (requires repeating algs)
Intermediate: 2LOLL + 2LPLL
Advanced: 2LOLL + 1LPLL
Expert: 1LOLL + 1LPLL

i was about to post a thread somehow similiar to this :o . lucky i didnt :p .

i realise after watching some of my own vids , i need to PLL faster to break the sub 14 barrier .

my reg+exec of pll is very slow :fp .

any experience to share with me on how you guys get there :)

i feel that practicing the algo individually is different in actual solves , because in actual solves its recognition + execution . :(

AvG I'm working on a number of things to speed up my solving but Edge control is actually what I've been wanting to find more on. I haven't searched it much lately, but even if I could just find a set of alg's for the RUR' common setup for edge control. I commonly see just a single yellow center and I have the RUR' setup for my last F2L pair, and it annoys me that I know (since I'm still in 2LOLL) I'll have to do both the F RUR'U' F' and f RUR'U' f' to get just my edges, it slows me down a bit, just enough to annoy me I guess.

I have memorized about 50 something oll. So almost 2look LL. So, I have to practice slowly without locking up, and eventually add speed?

yes once keep practicing smooth solves ur last layer speed should improve, but its going to take time. My last layer is really slowing me down 12 seconds, 2 look oll, and full pll so you are faster than me in LL. My execution and finger tricks suck

Shop around for good algorithms and practise a lot and decide which one is better. Then practise some more. Do it slowly to figure out the finger-tricks.

I am bad at LL myself. Some of the things people do is mind-boggling to me, like sub-1 sec H perm with M moves. How the hell do you do that?!

I can sub2 the H perm, it's my U2 that slows me down. I will try to find this video, but when I first saw how to do the H perm using M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2 the guy in the video was doing 0.88 consistently. I think Erik's video of his perms he does it sub1.

The trick is to move the M slice with one move instead of 2 finger pulls. Same with U2. But when I try to do a double U turn with 2 fingers, I just lock up when going back to the M slice. It's obviously just practice but I guess I'm happy enough w/my H perm speed and feel like I need to work on things like my N perm more.
