Should I use friedrich now?

wtf...what the problem in starting with fridrich as soon as you get to know about it?

I have started cubing with Fridrich right away and I'm really glad the I was not teached any stupid beginners method.

The only thing that makes sense iss to start practising what you are going to use anyway as soon as possible.

wtf...what the problem with starting with beginners and working your way to fridrich when your more advanced, and understand more about the basic concepts of the cube.

I have started with keyhole after beginners and im really glad i didnt jump right into fridrich, becausse i wouldve ben lost.

The only thing that makes sense iss to start practising what you know, taking it as far as you can, and then going on from there.
Good job acting your age Edward. Why didnt you take keyhole to sub 20 then switch to fridrich? Why'd you switch so early?

The furthest I could take it myself was sub 40 :D.

But you get my point.

How do you know the furtherest if you stopped trying? What's the furthest that you're going to take fridrich? You don't know yet because you haven't gotten there and even then you'll still probably go further.

As I said, you get my point. The same way you contradict everything I say, is the same thing I did in his case.

You mock him.

Done. Just kidding ;), but yea, your arguing isn't going to solve that many of the worlds problems.

You guys should cut back on the quote chains, they're a bit excessive, or maybe the forum should make the quote button exclude the quoted post's quotes. This page has 3 posts on it but is about 5000 px high.

I don't think fridrich will benefit you as much now as it would after you get to say 1:30 with beginners method, if youre only at 2:30 then you havent got much experience with turning and doing things quickly so fridrich would not help too much. Once you get around 1:00-1:30 is when method improvement instead of just practicing will help you more.

Hmm. People here say to get under 1 min. (I didn't really read everything, but that's mostly what I saw.) I was only at barely sub-2 rarely when I switched to Fridrich (I had been using Dan Brown's method for like a year!) and now I'm at sub-45 as my PB and my fake (I only took the best 12 times that were under 55 seconds.) average (3/5) is sub-50 and my fake average (12/12) is exactly 50 seconds. And I switched like a year ago. Should I have switched later and not as soon as I have? I currently use int. F2L and 4LLL. I'm learning the PLLs currently.

Wow. Maybe that's why I'm progressing so slowly. And because I'm too lazy to learn the PLLs. I still use the 2LPLL trick that you pretty much only use A perms and then it's practically solved. It actually takes more than two steps sometimes.

Start learning Fridrich now! I think I started learning F2L at 1:30+ but that's because I am ignorant and thought 1:30 is a big deal until I watched some youtube videos and saw a Japanese guy did it (later to find out he is Yu Nakajima) and I said "What! you mean it is possible to solve a Rubik's cube in 6 sec?! Screw beginner's method, this is not gonna get me anywhere."

There are some benefits in mastering beginner's method like building up foundation in algorithms and finger-tricks, but you don't want to wait until you are breaking world records with beginner's method before learning advanced stuff. I started understanding and learning what is keyhole stuff only when I knew F2L.

I used the beginners method until i got down to just under a minute. It was only then that i started learning Fridich algs. I enjoy learning algs so i started with alg f2l but it's up to you how you progress and the method you choose. I would say you should be fairly good with a beginners method before you move on though. Good luck :)
