So what happened was i was turning a middle layer, and one of my center pieces popped... but sadly the little plastic groove that holds it in snapped off of it as well.

This cube is OLD, the sticker says "Hong Kong 1982". I tried super glue, and waited a day and put it back in, and it popped back out, broken, after one turn.

I've looked and can't find anywhere that sells vintage individual pieces. Does anyone know of one? Or better yet, does anyone know of a better method to reattach the broken groove?

The thing happened when I dropped my 3x3 storebought just have to glue it back in every week or so.

I have an original revenge that I broke a center on. I tried epoxy, superglue, crazy glue and none of them worked for me for longer than 30-40 minutes. I ended up purchasing a new style center from cubesmith and I took a dremel/sander thingy and made the foot on the new one look like the foot of original peices....it took a fair of futzing around to get it right but it has held up really well since I finished it.

However, the Mefferts 4x4 is a much faster/nicer cube so personally I would just invest in one of those.

I actually already had an Eastsheen 4x4 in the mail... sadly i now see that QJ is really cheap and good.

I more wanted to fix it to at least some kind of working order, because a client at my work gave this cube to me, and his grandpa bought it in the 80's... so just kind of as a memento more than a speedcube.

I haven't tried epoxy yet, but the superglue did the same thing to me, maybe an hour of play and then the piece would pop back out broken again.
I hadn't though of casting a new piece. It would be a lot of work.

Today I plan on getting some good adhesive and hopefully it'll work.

so totally offnote, but since it was being talked about, how mush better would you guys say the QJ is than the eastsheen? I've looked ast reviews on it and it looks solid, i just wanna know what someone thinks that owns both.

In terms of Speedsolving:
QJ=Meffert's>>>>>Eastsheen>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rubik's

In terms of overall quality (include price)
QJ>>>>>>Mefferts>>Eastsheen>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rubik's

BTW you can request pieces there:
