I have been cubing now for a month and I know it really isn't that great lol but for a month of Fridrich I wouldnt say it is too bad. Yes my F2L is extremely slow and painful to watch lol. I am working on that if you have any tips for me please let me know!

Yeah sorry I figured that out... I posted the link haha... Those were really fast error catches. :/

Grats! I got my first sub1 average a couple weeks ago or so, so I know how you feel!

(Well, I'd got several avg12 sub1's before but.. that was my first session of 50 (then 100) that made it sub1. I figure the average of averages is a best judge and wanted to use that before I offically called myself a sub1 solver)

Feels great huh? Course, next to all these sub 30, 20, 11's..! heh... but we'll get there :)

Haha yeah, its intimadating and inspiring. Grats to you to! I will do an average of 50 tonight, maybe, so I can see if I really am sub 1! Thanks for the reply!

It'll only take practise :D. I was over 1 minute not long ago, and I'm now churning out Sub-30s.

You're missing 3 * practice for sub-30.

Phases, I detect that you're the kind of cuber who will certainly get there because you're getting maximum FUN out of it. That's the ticket. Keep on!

congrats. I recently started too. after a week I hit 1:02. it took me at least another 3 weeks to post a sub minute average. it gets harder and harder to shave off time.

i was a consistent 50 second-1 average...then a few weeks back i finally started averagin 45 seconds and ive been stuck there for the longest. Practice your cross, f2l, and last layer A LOT

Thanks for all the replies!! Yeah I'm going to work tonight on doing an average of 50 I did 15 Earlier and got a 56 second average so hopefully the 50 will turn out the same!

Congrats! I recently learned the F2L and so far the 2-look OLL/PLL. I am just over a minute, I have gotten sub 1 minute times but my average is slightly over 1 minute, when I am able to solve under a minute, I call it the "lucky" solves where either the F2L solved easily or the OLL/PLL worked to my favor so I really cancel those from my averages (I attribute them to lucky solves). My problem is of course getting fast at F2L. I am working on solving the cross on the bottom instead of the top so that I can look ahead when performing the F2L. The OLL/PLL does not take me very long however, I can tell that my cross + F2L is adding a good 40 seconds :-(

My plan is to work on the cross on the bottom, not very difficult but since I am not used to it I think it will take a little bit to become profficient at it then, working on the look ahead with F2L. Once I improve, I will work on the full OLL/PLL. I cube for fun, I admire those who can solve the cube so quickly, simply amazing! I have found that if I do not rush I am more consistent and actually a bit faster. When I rush, I tend to overshoot some of the movements which costs time. One thing that has helped me is solving at a conistent pace with no pauses, I pick a speed and constantly turn, this has helped a lot with consistency however, for me I need a lot of practice. My recommendation is practice the look ahead with F2L so that you can track pairs and cube at a consistent speed so you reduce the pauses between movements. That has helped me (FYI I am not competition level so I am still a beginner)

It does :D

Being stuck at 30 is very annoying.

I'm stuck at just under sub-30 too. It's a little frustrating but I think I'm very slowly getting faster. I just got a new PB average of 5 last night, so I think that's a good sign.

Oxymoron alert!

Hey Chris glad to hear I have another beginner with me :) we will get there my friend I'm working on slow consistent solves right now.

Hey, thanks teller! :)

Dark_Cube: How'd that avg50 go?? Don't worry if it wasn't under a minute.. it will be soon enough!

p.s. It's easy to psych yourself out too if you watch the average the whole way. I find its better to do in bursts personally. Look at session count/avg, "oh okay 15 more to go." ...solve a bit, glance "ok 7 more solves to go.." and count them out. etc. I for one am very very good at screwing myself toward the end of a session if I've got a goal to reach and I'm right on the line..
