Hey I'm Cillian... Only been cubing two weeks, but i'm lovin' every minute of it... Using fridrich, 2 look Oll and i'm learning the PLL's... I won't even dare time myself yet.. (the shame)...

anyway not much cubing goin' on here in Ireland... No competitions.. No nothing... Could be wrong it's only been two weeks.. Anybody from Ireland?

Some useless info: (always popular)

I play a little guitar, like gears of wars, work at a dogtracks and I hope to go study theoretical physics next year at NUI Maynooth....

Welcome abord the cubing train!

I'm very impressed you're already starting to learn all the PLLs after only two weeks!!

Anyway yeh, remember to use the search function on these forums and you can't really go wrong :)

Thanks man... Yeah I got a lot of time on my hands.... How long were you practicing to get your 15.78.(Nice..)

Welcome to Speedsolving.com.

If you are learning CFOP you really should start timing yourself :P I timed myself for the first time on my second ever solve :D
As soon as I finish learning the PLL's i'm gonna time myself... I just thought there's no point yet coz in the middle of a solve i'd have to look one up...

dude, you need to time yourself, not just to see how fast you are, but to track your progress as you, well... progress.

I have enough links with Ireland to get an Irish passport :)
Good to see one more cuber from there! (Currently there's only Grace Farrell)

You should try and make the UK Open :) Flights from Dublin-> Manchester are about £35 if you book like right now (I think).

Cool man, thanks for the info... I'd say accommodation wouldn't be that cheap though... Although I could fly over and back the same day.. Is it the kinda thing that it starts early and finishes late... You'd really want to be there the night before and stay the night after it...

I don't if i'm competition material yet.. ha ha... but i suppose its more about the community....

Been cubing for about 7 or 8 months I'd say... I'd hugely recommend you timing yourself and doing an average of 5 every single weekend and then you can plot an awesome graph... I hugely regret not recording things like that so I highly recommend you doing it =)

Don't worry about being all that fast. I went to my first comp earlier this year and I'm by no means quick.

From Erik's YouTube page - (speedcubing means solve the Rubik's Cube as fast as you can with the desire of doing it faster every time, so it doesn't matter if you are at 10 minutes or 15 seconds of average to be a 'speedcuber').

Yeh erik went to his first comp when his pb was 44 seconds!!

Also you can look through the times in comps and see that people still turn up with "bad" times...

Having said that, I've never been to a comp but oh well, once I finish this year at school and head off to Uni I can go to a few :)

Don't have any money or way of getting there... I'd rather not talk about it before I smash my computer, I really wanted to go...
