Ok if I go to a comp, and I am doing rubiks magic can I move the timer up and the magic behind the timer?

G1) Standard procedure is followed as described in Article A (Speed Solving).

A3d) At the end of the inspection, the competitor must place the puzzle back onto the Stackmat, in the orientation and position he wishes.

I'd assume that the puzzle has to be on the mat. You should probably get into the habit of doing that, I'm pretty sure it's quicker to have the magic in front of the timer.

Maybe you could put the stackmat backwards??

It (the timer) has to stay attached to the mat at the same spot.
I don't think you would be allowed to completely turn the mat around 180, if that's what you're suggesting; plus they were have to reach across the table for that.

And because the timer is at the end of the mat, there's no space for the puzzles to go behind it.
