help, im hearing anything thats not close to me (within like 20 feet) in Japanese. but the thing is, i don't even know Japanese (altough i plan on learning it, and studying there). could It be that ive optimized my brain for learning a new language, i just cant decipher the meaning of the words yet?(or something like that)

I'm sorry, but how are you recognizing things that you hear as something you don't know? Or do you know a few words in Japanese?

Japan is one of the most fascinating countries evar. Along with the UK.
I wish I was born in either one of those countries. d:

But on topic: I think its because youre watching those ever so delightful japanese cartoons. I remember your PM about Lucky Star, which is my favorite.

I agree. TS's post doesn't make any sense. Unless he already knows the language, there's no way he could recognize it as Japanese. For all he knows, it could be complete gibberish.

That's really not true. I don't speak japanese but I can identify it if I hear it. The syllables used when speaking japanese are fairly distinctive, even among asian languages.

Yes but he apparently doesn't know Japanese. I can say a few basic sentences but I can't really speak it either. It's easy to tell Japanese from Chinese or other Asian languages because it uses less vowels. I think he's just thinking that they're Japanese because he can't relate them to anything else.

Yeah, I think that's one of the reasons. That's what introduced me to Japan and its language. (well I started searching after watching some) I think there's one more reason to it though.
