Silicone FTW!

3-in-1 Pro Silicone Spray:
- Fair
- The cube needs to be worked in a lot after applying
- It lasts a few weeks

H4000 Food Grade Silicone Spray:
- Good
- The cube doesn't really need to be worked in
- It doesn't last that long

CRC 808 Silicone Spray:
- Really Good
- The cube needs to be worked in a bit after applying
- It lasts a few weeks

The MSDS document says that CRC 808 spray has "Liquified Petroleum Gas" in it. Whatever happened to "petroluem bad"?

I reckon that bashing the cube down on a hard surface does more damage to it, and I'm doing that frequently :-P

The core hasn't broken yet, and I've about 10 3x3x3 cubes so I wouldn't be that stressed if it did break :-) *crosses fingers*

I doubt there's much petroleum in it *shrug*

I tried using veggie oil, but that didn't work well... Then I tried WD 40, but that didn't have any effect on the cube. So now I'm just using the "natural" black powder from the erosion of the Rubik's cube.

The concentration levels of the silicone isn't that great and the petroleum is a little worrying :-/

Any better products available in Australia? :-P

EDIT:

DryGlide any good? (the description looks a little scary):

No idea. But there's no silicone in there. Silicone is Dimethylpolysiloxane or something to that effect.

It's kind of funny that I got you worried about the spray you use, after you've endorsed it so much, heh.
