The reason he's so fast is partly because he turns fast. But he's also very clever with his solutions; like a lot of the Chinese 3x3 solvers, he's able to plan a very efficient cross+2 in inspection. So he's able to spam out the first portion of the solve, and then he's also very smart with how he solves his last 2, occasionally orienting edges with ZBLS. But I found he more often chooses to do EO after finishing F2L, possibly to influence better ZBLL cases. And of course, he likely knows all ZBLL, which helps increase his efficiency even more. It seems like he averages around mid-50 moves, so pair that with 7+ TPS every solve, and he should be getting anywhere from low 7 to mid 8, which coincides with his official averages. He makes sure his turning is extremely simplified, mostly RU turning, with some RUF to influence better pairs, like how he did a y2 on multiple solves to solve a pair he could've done zRU turning for. And this also helps him to be more consistently faster without doing any risky fingertricks that might mess him up, as well as not trapping himself with multiple solved slots in the front, which is particularly evident on the last solve.what in the world
