switched to using 4-pad in practice now (since I’m most likely not going to another comp this year anyway) and suddenly just starting averaging high 4 low 5 in skewb???
I got like 3 sub-3 singles, had sub-4 BPA like twice (I’ve gotten it literally over 20 times atp) and got a 4.84 ao12, and improved my ao25 by like 0.4 to 4.93! All with 4-pad, i haven’t really missed a timer stop yet

In addition to my 3.86 Skewb ao5 (first sub-4 lesgo), I also got 4.77 PB ao12, and my ao5000 is now sub-6.5 (with only 6000 solves)!

Ok, update on everything.
I haven’t been cubing a ton lately, mainly just grinding skewb and occasionally 2x2, 3x3, and FTO.
3x3: I’ve gotten significantly worse (due to lack of practice), my F2L is very bad lol, and I’m incredibly inconsistent (I’m literally averaging anywhere from 15-25) so I think I just need to work on my lookahead/pair solutions, and I still need to learn the G perms (I had learned 2 of them but forgot them when school started)
2x2: I’m starting to average high 3/low 4 now with Ortega, don’t really have the time to learn and practice CLL so I’ll prob just stick with this for now.
4x4-7x7: essentially haven’t been doing any of these at all lol, I’m averaging 1:00-1:05 on 4x4, anywhere from 2:10-2:40 on 5x5, anywhere from 4:20-5:00 on 6x6, and like 7:30 on 7x7 (I’ve literally done one timed solve since my comp in February
). I’m using Yau for all of these, and if a comp comes up I’ll start practicing them and I’ll get better, just don’t have much reason to rn
3BLD: I’ve improved a lot, averaging 2:30 now, my success rate is also pretty good I guess, my pb avg is still 3:30, but I haven’t done a ton of solves so that’s easily beatable, my exec hasn’t really gotten much faster but my memo is nearing sub-1 now so that’s great. I’m also in the process of learning Orozco for corners, so I’ll implement that eventually.
FMC: I do attempts every once in a while, I’m fully sub-40 now, averaging closer to 35 just using blockbuilding NISS and insertions.
OH: Haven’t really been doing much but averaging 35 ig, super inconsistent though
Clock: Again, I don’t do clock much, I’m hoping I can get a comp with it before it gets removed, and hopefully a sub-10 average, I’m kinda averaging 9-10 using 2 letter 7sf
Mega: heh I don’t like mega lol it puts too much strain on my left pinky (which I think I worked too hard playing piano) so I can’t do 5 solves without having to stop, I guess I average 2:10-2:30 though
Pyra: I haven’t really been doing any Pyra (although I should be…) I’ve switched to intuitive L4E and averaging 5-8, if I actually practiced I could prob easily start averaging consistently sub-6, especially if I learned advanced L4E
Skewb: this is by far what I’ve been practicing the most, I’ve prob done 3000 solves in the last 3 months, and I’m finally starting to average sub-6. I also finally got my first sub-4 ao5, and I’m getting sub-5 ao5s regularly
Sq-1: haven’t been doing this much, averaging anywhere from 25-35
4BLD: did some attempts the other day, just minor errors here and there
5BLD: did my second attempt the other day, was off by 3 x-centers…I’m actually so surprised how close I’m getting (both of my attempts I’ve ever done have only been off by a few x-centers) so hopefully I’ll lock in a success soon
MBLD: was doing attempts weekly for a few weeks, got a weekly comp win with a 2 cube attempt (no one else submitted lol) and for the most part I’ve been getting perfect success rates
FTO: Averaging 55-1:05, I’ve been doing a decent amount of practice
There aren’t any comps coming up around for the near future, probably not until next year, we’ll see how that turns out but I’ll stop yapping now lol
