6x6 Sub-3, 7x7 Sub-5 advice.

generally you can just watch kevin hays tuesday tips and do a ton of solves. actually executing generated scrambles helped a lot for me in turning accuracy i think. most important thing to remember is to not quit because with big cubes theres basically a limit to how fast you can improve (even though you can improve pretty fast)

honestly at that speed you might just wake up one day and reach 3/5 (one day i improved from 4:35 to 4:10 global overnight) but don't count on it

Advice pls
Tell me about your 6x6 first.
How long does the first center take?
How long does the second one take?
Do you use Yau?
If so then how long does the 3 edges take?
Yau or Redux how long do the next two centers take?
How long do the last two centers take?
How long does edge pairing take?
How long does each parity take?
How long does 3x3 stage take?
Tell me everything
The more perspective I have the more I can help!

Both centers each take about 16 seconds
I use Yau, 3 edges take like 20 seconds
Next 2 centers take like 35 seconds
Last 2 take like 20
Edge Pairing takes like 55 seconds
Edge Parity: 4.8 seconds
Oll parity 4.5 seconds
PlL parity 3 seconds
3x3 stage 17.56 seconds

Ok thanks
You need to work on more efficient edges in Yau stage, ideally the three edges should take 12 seconds or so (working on that myself)
Then working on centers 3 and 4 should take as long as centers 1 and 2. So try solving them in 32 seconds instead of 35
Last two centers are crazy easy actually, it should take 16+ seconds or so seeing your piece per second ratio is almost 1/1
And edge pairing is where you lose a lot of time.
It should take you 36 seconds after the transition from centers to edges to pair all of them, you are almost TWO TIMES SLOWER (almost)
So after analyzing this, I need to know how you build centers and pair edges to further decide what you need to work on 🙂

@shubhsquare-1 I guess what would be even better is for you to send Jared a video of one of your solves for him to analyze. If you’re not comfortable doing that then that’s fine, it’s just a suggestion to try and help us help you more. (I can also give advice as well if you need it but Jared I think you’ve got it for right now 😁)

I think you are faster than me and better at explaining! I don't mind if you take over and sending a video is always the best!

this is a 3:17 6x6 solve
So it looks like you build blocks to solve your centers
4x1 strips is what you should go for.
What you are doing now takes more time and effort to do.
If you prefer block building I recommend solving two 2x2 blocks on top and bottom, then two 4x1 strips on both sides of the blocks you built (4x2 to be exact)
@BVCuber13 what do you think?
PS your tps and no pauses show you have potential for sub 2:45 in my opinion

OK thx, though 4x1 strips makes me angry ill work on it. Btw, Jared, are u The Speed Cube Kid? I think I subbed back to you

Yay
Yes I am the speed cube kid😍
And as I said, you can build blocks, just a little differently than what you are right now
2x2 blocks on top and bottom making a 4x2 block in the end, then you make the strips you hate
Good luck!
Thanks again for the sub!

I didnt even give you 7x7 advice yet! @BVCuber13 didn't say what he thought of your 6x6 yet
And you still got pbs? AWESOME
Keep it up bro good job
oh shoot lol I had a response typed and completely forgot to send it 😂

anyway @shubhsquare-1 keep doing block building, I still primarily use block building but I’m well versed in 4x1 strips as well. I think the best thing to do is a combination of both of those, so if you can get comfortable with both that’s awesome!
