btw @CrossPetrus , have you understood everything? If so, plz help in making the algs.
Yeah I have. Do you want algs for 2nd pair eo (or 3rd pair eo, if we’ve decided that we like that more)? Just tell me which steps you want algorithmitized, and I’ll gen them later today.

Yeah I want 2nd pair EO, and here are the steps
X-Cross -1edge: (LEVAE THIS) (solve front, back, and left edges)(solve back left pair)
Solve 2nd pair with EO: (DO THIS) (with front left pair)
Solve Last White Edge: (LEAVE THIS)
Solve 3rd Pair: (LEAVE THIS) (with back right pair)
WV: (LEAVE THIS)
PLL: (LEAVE THIS)

btw thx for the algs if you successfully make them
i am also gonna head out so bye

This is scarily close to the method I've been developing for over a month now

So this is the method we kinda decided on working on ? Or are we doing a few simultaneously.

@CrossPetrus srry if im already late but i decided to do some steps fixing
X-Cross -1edge: (LEAVE THIS) (solve right, back, and left white edges)(solve back left pair)
Solve 2nd pair with EO: (DO THIS) (with back right pair)
|Solve Last White Edge: (LEAVE THIS) | O | Solve Last White Edge & 3rd Pair: (DO THIS IF YOU CHOSE THIS OPTION)
|Solve 3rd Pair: (LEAVE THIS) (with back right pair) | R | (with front white edge and front right pair)
WV: (LEAVE THIS)
PLL: (LEAVE THIS)

Here's the method I made

Step 1: Block-building

So for this step you're gonna do all of F2L without the last pair using block building for a lower move count.
Here's an easy way to think about it:
1. Make a 1x2x2 block oriented to the correct centers.
2. Expand that into a 2x2x2 block by adding an edge piece.
3. Expand the 2x2x2 block into a 2x2x3 block.
4. Add 1 more f2l pair and then add the last cross piece to finish this step.

Step 2: EO-Pair

In this step, you do EO while simultaneously pairing up the last f2l pair. This can be done intuitively though it's quite difficult so I might make an algset in the future if this method gains enough traction. The F2L pair doesn't need to be solved into its slot.

Step 3: Winter Variation

This step is quite simple, you just do winter variation for the last pair and OLL.

Step 4: PLL

This step is also quite self-explanatory, just do PLL to finish off the solve.

Alternate methods for the last layer

If you want to, you could just insert the last pair after EO and do either ZBLL or OLL/PLL, but ZBLL has too many algs and OLL/PLL has less algs but is slightly slower than using the main method.

what is apb? sry guys.
Caleb had an explanation earlier in the thread
bro I don’t think you know what APB is either😔💀

APB is this:
step 1: solve 223 on the LEFT (usually done by solve a 1x2x3 then solving DFDB)
step 2: solve BR pair (an alg set allows you to do this while solving EO but there are a lot of algs)
step 3: EO (only 11 algs)
step 4: LXS (also has an alg set but can be done intuitively)
step 5: ZBLL (can also use OLL and PLL)

Also there’s more info on APB on apbmethod.net

Ok, I think I have something. 2X2X3 block any way u want, f2l in front slots without final edge cross, CBLL the yellow corns, orient and permute the last edges. Reduces rotations, about 94 algs, combines all our suggestions into one insane thingy you guys have the honor of naming

You mean it’s up to the solver to decide how to solve 223 right?

What does CBLL stand for? If I’m getting this right it’s doing OLL and then solving both PLL and the edge?
yes you may solve 2x2x3 any way you want. CBLL refers to the 2x2 method of permuting the last layer( oll and pll combined)only for corners. Here is a pic. My bad, there is actually about 98 algs for the last 7 edges

I could be wrong but isn’t it the last 5 edges and it’s 960 algorithms? Cuz:

5 edges and the combinations of where they could be: 5! (120) but accounting for edge permutation parity we have to divide by 2, which is 60 permutation combinations.

Edges can either be oriented or misoriented 2, and there’s 5 edges so it’s 2^5 (32) but accounting for edge orientation parity we have to divide by 2, which is 16 orientation combinations.

60*16=960
