And what are those schemes useful for?
I don't know. I don't see any particular use for this one. But that doesn't mean there isn't one. I do know one use for a corner orientation scheme which differs from the common scheme in a similar way. I've probably described it before here somewhere, it's a corner orientation scheme where 3-corner-permutations take at most nine moves.

Similarly, define a new scheme where the M slice edges are correctly oriented iff they can be solved (relative to let's say the DFL corner) using only M moves.
So they're incorrectly oriented whenever they're not in the M slice? UR and RU are both incorrect?
Sorry, that was a mistake. I did intend to only specify the relevant part but screwed up. Meant to say this:

M slice edges in the M slice are correctly oriented iff they can be solved (relative to let's say the DFL corner) using only M moves.

Then again... who says the same edge can't be "not correctly oriented" (and I intentionally don't say "incorrectly oriented") both at UR and RU? If we're in the context of <F,M> solving, the M-slice edges never get to UR or RU and thus my scheme doesn't need to specify whether they'd be correctly oriented there.
