I'll be logging my 5x5 progression in here because I think it's a cool event.
I got my first 5x5 a week and a half ago. I've only timed 4 solves so far, my best being 4:57 and my worst being somewhere around 5:30 (I don't remember because it was on a physical timer).
Let's see how much longer it takes until I get 5 in a row under 5 minutes.

I want to help bro (I am 1:24.77 single and sub 1:40 ao5)

idk
I am using the method from the instructions that came with my warrior 5x5, where I form a cross and do the sune alg to get the corners for each center.
ok forget the pamphlet that is for baby beginners and you are not one. You have to chose between block building(my specialty) or strip solving (am ok with it) your choice, but both are decent.

If you're better at block building then I guess I'll do that
ok cool but if you lik 3x1 bars we can switch. 1st center,( is easy if you understand me) 1x2 block, 2x2 block, 2x3 block 3x3 block. So for 1x2 block you will take 1 edge center and pair it with the center piece. 2x2 block, you work on pairing an edge center with a corner center. You then pair the 2 together. Repeat make 1x2x3 block. For the final bar you can do it by yourself. Do you get it?

With some practice this is becoming a little easier and it makes sense.

How do you pair your edges? That is the next thing I wanna work on with you!
I put the middle edge piece on the FL bigger edge and another edge piece of the same colors on the FR bigger edge but on the bottom of that bigger edge and do Uw' R F' U R' F Uw to pair them up, when there are 2 edges paired up I just leave the open slot on the top of the left bigger edge. I can also do the same thing mirrored.

cool. Look up "free slicing" you restore the centers to their solved state. Free slicing flexes the centers a bit more and restores them to their solved state after 8 edge groups are solved.

Some things I learned yesterday:
- My 5x5 (QiYi Warrior M) is actually better bone dry than lubed.
- I really like the GAN 562 but it's too big for my tiny hands lol. I'm probably gonna upgrade to either the aochuang or hong 5x5 when I do end up wanting to.

Also I still haven't looked up free slicing but I'm about to go and do that.
