Hey guys

Its Ali here, all the way from New Zealand. Thanks for letting me join up to like-minded people. I'm hoping I can make some useful contributions over time. Onme of the reasons I have joined is that I have become stumped on beiong able top solve my 3 x 3 standard cube. This is after over 2 years of being able to solve it consistently under 2 minutes.

However; a couple of months ago I hit a brick wall when coming to solve the yellow side. This is after the white side is done and the next two layers down as well.

I'm doing the clock, clock, counter, clock, clock, flip counter method but I'm ending up with one yellow piece out of place. Its driving me slighhtly insane as you can imagine. I'm wondering if I'm holding the rotation of the cube incorrectly or is it something else? If anyone can suggest anything, this would be great.

I'm not sure if the forum would allow me to upload a photo to show what I've been talking about here.

Regards

Ali :-)

Welcome to the forums!

I don’t know what the clock, clock, counter, clock, clock, flip counter method is (I probably call it a different name) but is a yellow piece out of place like this? (Not my photo, got this from online)

Edit: if so, this is an impossible case to solve. You have to rotate the face 45 degrees and twist the corner

Thanks for yopur reply. Yes, that's exactly how the yellow side is ending up. Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Hey Ali! I have never heard of this method, but learning the beginner method might be best. The beginner method makes it easy to solve, and easier to learn new, better methods like CFOP. the best tutoral is by J-Perm on YT
