Wdym potato quality it’s not even bad broTeodor's WR solves both have the most potato quality I have seen in a while. What if Erik Akkersdijk's skills were transferred and modernized into to Teodor. AM I onto something?
@Erik Akkerdijk
What the F5WHAT THE FFFFF
Rowe Hessler if day earlierTeodor is the first to set both 2x2 and 3x3 single WRs since Erik in 2008.
I doubt it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was broken again this year nglThis is probably going to stand for a good 3-4 years
I don't know about this particular record being broken, but I fully expect 3 or more 2-second solves this year. Xuanyi and Yiheng are clearly on the very verge of getting thereI doubt it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was broken again this year ngl
who’s yeheng?If it really was 16 move scramble, I hope they make that the new scramble standard. I am really mad that yeheng didn't get it though...I am still rooting for him!
I could be wrong but was Yusheng like 28?Is this the least number of moves (29) for a WR scramble?
I thought it was 27I could be wrong but was Yusheng like 28?
lol no, Mr. Cuber from 2007but he [Yiheng] doesnt get lucky. Xuanyi Geng doesnt get lucky, Max Park doesnt get lucky.
Getting lucky is not a crimeI wouldnt count it. I know that I got lucky, and I know that if I count the solve, I wouldnt break that record for years. That takes the fun out of speedcubing. We are already nearing a human limit and if someone with high TPS comes along with a great scramble, well, thats it. we wont be breaking the record anymore. 3x3 is done.
I thought the idea of not counting lucky scrambles disappeared in the early 2000s, I guess it hasn't completely. Luck is just a part of speedcubing, that's just how it is. Every scramble is different so there's naturally luck involved. If you don't count "lucky" solves, there's still luck as then you want to get the luckiest scramble possible that still doesn't count as lucky. Taking advantage of luck is also a skill, so even though everyone has the same chance of getting a lucky scramble some people just choke. Whether or not it was a lucky scramble Teodor still solved a fairly scrambled 3x3 in 2.76 secs, that's what we're actually measuring here.I dont know how to feel. yay for speedcubing, yay for teodor, but he got lucky. I have a 11 second PB and i solved this scramble in 5 seconds on my first try. Yiheng Wang is my goat and im not saying this to defend him, but he doesnt get lucky. Xuanyi Geng doesnt get lucky, Max Park doesnt get lucky. these people are actual high-end speedcubers. notice teodor's fastest solve in the average was basically 5 seconds and his fastest solve ever befre the 2.76 was 4.09 seconds. these times are average for Yiheng and Xuanyi. The statistics say that.
Picture this: you are doing your solves and you get a really good scramble. You solve it with a crappy (or a good one, this could go either way) solution but still get a LL Skip. Your time is 3 seconds faster than your past PB. What do you do?
A- Know that you were lucky and dont count the solve
B- Say that that is your new PB, but dont end up breaking it for god knows how long
C- Try the scramble again to inprove your solution, but dont count any solves for that scramble
I know for me, I would not count the solve. If I were to get an 8 second solve (3 secs faster than my PB) and its a crazy lucky solve with a triple x cross and a 3 mover to complete F2L, an 8 move OLL, and a PLL skip, I wouldnt count it.
I dont say this to put down Teodor, congrats to him, that was a high TPS solve with an elegant solution, but you could get high TPS and good solutions on a crap ton of other scrambles and they wouldnt be 2 second solves.
SeungBeom Cho's WR was 28 STM and Yusheng Du got WR with a 27 STM solutionIs this the least number of moves (29) for a WR scramble?
