How do you improve turning speed? Idk I try to turn fast every solve but it just isn't that fast. Sometimes I drill my algorithms to do them faster, but I can do an F perm 100 times and get it down to like 1.5 seconds but then when I get it in a solve I always stumble over it because my hands never start in the right grip when I finish OLL and it takes so long to readjust hands, and even once I get the right grip it's harder to do it fast when I don't have the immediate muscle memory of having just done it 100 times. Also it isn't just algs, my cross tps is so slow and that is just random moves so there isn't even anyway to drill that except just solving, which I already do all the time but it isn't getting any faster. Are there any methods to improve hand speed?

If you want to improve something you have to go into that area where you're no longer comfortable. Do the algs a little faster than you are used to, and at some point it'll get comfortable, and then you speed up again. Practice the transition from OLL to PLL over and over. You already found your weak spot, work on it. :)

It's similar to weightlifting. If you lift 50 kilos for the rest of your life, it'll get very easy, but you'll never lift more.

Lookahead is here to save the day again, "slow down and lookahead" since no does both, here's a suggestion that worked for me, grab your Rubik's brand or any incredibly slow dollar store cube that you have lying around, try to not pause and use metronome.

I'm not sure about dollar store (they don't even turn at all sometimes)

This post isn't about look ahead, I want to increase max tps. For example when I get to PLL, there is nothing to look ahead to anymore, so at this point there is no reason to not just spam tps, but I can't do it. And on 2x2 when I 1 look a solve it still takes me more than twice as long to execute as a lot of people.

Just as JPerm said, TPS considers that you are not pausing at all which means you have a great lookahead, but no one can be pauseless, and spamming turns isn't going to compensate for bad lookahead.

also what about OLL and PLL recognition? they are part or lookahead and makes your turning speed useless.

But tps matters and it is holding me back. My times could significantly improve just from turning faster. Stop acting like turning speed means nothing. A lot of people sub-1 most olls and plls and I don't even sub2 most which means faster tps can take 2 seconds off just my last layer. I didn't make a post about lookahead because I already know how to practice that and I am actually seeing improvements in that, unlike in my tps. But literally every time I ask people for tps tips the just say "Just focus on lookahead " as if I don't already practice that... like I need to fix my slow tps at some point and I'd rather not just pretend it isn't a problem until it's too late and I hit a hard wall.

Don't forget 0.5 second pll recognition and then 1.5 seconds pll execution is faster than 0.5 second pll recognition and then 2.5 seconds pll execution... my tps on ll has way more room to improve than my recognition

Try looking for cross solutions that are more finger friendly. They can be executed faster even if they take more moves than the move-optimal solution.

My number one tip to improve TPS is to reduce regrips. You want to keep your hands in home position (both thumbs on the front of the cube) as much as possible. So in a trigger like R U R' instead of regripping your right thumb to the bottom of the cube so you can flick the U with your right index finger, bring your left index finger to the front of the UFL corer and flick it left. That way, you don't have to regrip before doing the trigger and your right thumb stays in home position. The F Perm alg can even be regripless if you start with your right thumb on the top and execute every U move with your left index finger. That's the only way I can sub 1 the F Perm.
