SS Competition Results
i overthink alot when planning things. this inspired the title.
It was also inspired by how at Christmas time, which is nearing, people, to my knowledge, overthink alot about presents and that.

i spent months thinking of how to improve my forum comps after my failed Summer Start Sizzle 2025, and have started to conclude what i want to do.
i have helped with other comps, so hopefully i can improve from my first forum comp.

Official Events :

4x4
Skewb
5x5
OH.

Unofficial Event :

Mini Guilford.

I am hoping for 12 to 20 competitors.

Competitors :

1 - @That0newe1rdo - 4x4 (1:09), 5x5 (2:40), Skewb (9s), Mini Guilford, OH (41s)

Layout :

Official events (all of which will have 3 rounds) :

R1 - Overthought Group Stage - x number of groups with y number of competitors, the top 1/2/3/4 in their group will advance to R2.
Groups will be chosen by me (this is why this is an overthought group stage).

R2 - Not So Overthought Group Stage - x number of groups with y number of competitors, the top 1/2 in their group advances to finals.
Groups are completely randomised, making this a not so overthought group stage.

Finals - The Round Where You May Win, Unless You Overthink And Forget To Submit - Just the standard WCA layout, where the remaining competitors fight for the title of "NOT AN OVERTHINKER". This title is based off how the winner didnt overthink and forget to submit.

Unofficial Event :

Finals (Mini Guilford) - The Round Where You May Win, Unless You Overthink And Forget To Submit - Just the standard WCA layout, where the remaining competitors fight for the title of "THIS PERSON BOTHERED TO SUBMIT". This title is based off how the winner bothered to submit.

Titles for peoples that exist :

NOT AN OVERTHINKER - There are 3 to win, you may put this in your signature or something i couldnt care less (Official event winners)
THIS PERSON BOTHERED TO SUBMIT - There is 2 to win, you may put this in your signature or something i couldnt care less (mini guilford winner)
LORD LAZY - There is 1 to "win", you obtain this by being the fastest person to register who also didnt submit at all.
IM NOT LAZY - There is 1 to win, this goes to the fastest registrant who did every event and submitted quickly. I will declare this person with a point system i will state in a later post. I, That0newe1rdo, cannot win this award.
KING OF NOT OVERTHINKING - The ultimate title, 1 to win, this is the person who won the most events. (in the event of a tie, its whoever competed in more events).

Things you should note :

- Things in this comp may change from now until it starts.
- Titles are not meant to represent the person as a whole, they are just fun little things, please do not take "Lord Lazy" or just not winning as a negative comment on you, people have lives and etc.
- Any time i use algebraic terms (x, y , z) just means that it has not been decided yet, will likely not be decided until i am aware of competitors.

Requirements :
- Pls have fun
- No cheating i beg of you
- For official events only, please state your globals, this will be one of the many influences for groups i choose in R1. This will not be the main thing influencing groups.
- Pls dont register for events you know you wont do

Schedule - This will be followed no matter what, sorry in advance.

November 3rd - 9th - Registration For Unofficial Events.
November 3rd - November 21st - Registration for Official Events.
November 11th - 21st - Finals for Mini Guilford.

December 20th - December 30th - 4x4, Skewb, 5x5, OH Finals

November 10th
November 22nd
December 6th
December 19th
December 24th/25th - Competitors may still submit, but its Christmas so i recommend you dont.

I have made the schedule so it finishes on new years eve yipee, nice end to the year.

Submissions :

I will make group dms with each competitor group, so that the thread itself is for announcements, questions and registering.
PLEASE DO NOT POST RESULTS IN THIS THREAD, IT NEEDS TO BE NEAT PLS PLS PLS

i have spent at least 3 hours typing this up LOL, with maybe 15 mins of it being a break.

Good Luck to the competitors !

Sent from my accidentally superglued wrm v11, from That0newe1rdo, the king of overthinking.

haha im so funny

i love this colour

hmm this could be a seasonal comp, e.g Overthinking Easter 2026.
ofc it would have different events.
poll up, id prefer if people would answer after this comp ends tho.

2/11/25 - Comp announced, first draft of it.
7/11/25 - First thoughts of removing master pyra, replacing with OH. Decided if not enough people do master pyra, it will be replaced with OH.
9/11/25 - Decided to replace master pyra with OH, schedule for official events will change, also thought about changing the amount of rounds, since theres more time now. 10/11/25 - New schedule for official events, adjusted from R1 - Dec 1 - Dec 10th, R2 - Dec 12th - 21st, R3 - Dec 23rd - 30th.
