Hello, this is the announcement post for the Allrounder Knockout Tournament 2025. First of all, please only register if you really plan to participate, because it is really demotivating to organize this just to have only half the people submit results.
1) Registration:
Registration starts now and closes on Monday 4.8.2025 20:00 MESZ. You register in the form given below by giving your WCA-ID and 3 events that you ban (these will never be drawn for your battles).
REGISTRATION FORM: https://forms.gle/vauyQBQLBPJJuL418
Format:
The tournament is a single elimination knockout format with a kinch based seeding and a battle for 3rd place. For each round and each battle there will be 3 events chosen at random from the list of WCA events, which will exclude the events that either of the competitors banned. Whoever wins more events proceeds to the next round. If a tie occurs, then the results average kinch decides.
Right after registration ends, I will start the first round. Each round goes on for a week until Monday 20:00 MESZ and the next round will start shortly after the previous round ends.
I will make an announcement post for the start of each round, which includes the matchups, events, scrambles and results of the previous round. If you have questions, ask them here.

I can see a problem, what if you can't or don't have more than 3 WCA events? I don't have 6, 7 and can't do 5bld and 4bld

Same.
Id love to join but dont have a 6, and cant do any of the BLD events (well ik 3BLD but dont have any successes yet)
To me thats not really an issue with the concept and rather just a natural consequence of the nature of an allrounder tournament. If there is more than 3 events that you cannot do at all, then the resulting disadvantage is just fair imo.

The only real option you have is to ban 3 of the events you cannot do and take a gamble that the other events you cannot do are not drawn. Keep in mind that DNFs in the blind events are somewhat common, so it might be a good play to not ban 5BLD and hope for a DNF on the other side or hope they banned it themselves. Also you only need to win 2 of the 3 events, so even if you have an instant loss in one event, thats not entirely deciding the match.

Yh your right about that.
Idk why you need WCA ID as you can yous SS weekly results for most people to ensure they dont cheat.

The WCA ID is used for the seeding and for a consistent naming pattern that is convenient to use. This tournament is mainly hosted in the facebook group and I do not want to force anyone to have to come over here to compete in this tournament.

Yeah I understand that, I thought that it was mandatory to be able to solve everything you registered for

I do not know what you mean by the WCA forum.

I know what the WCA Forum is, I just dont understand what OP was trying to ask.

I don't either but it should say something like "redirecting to Google forms" or something like that so just click "ok" or whatever and it'll take you to the reg form
I get this
