So ive got a question. When fridrich pairing should you pair them and then insert or should the insertion pair the corner and the edge together? Im on an ipod so i cant put a link to what im talking about but its neurobact's example fridrich solve on youtube. That video is what i mean by pairing then inserting. RUR' that pairs the edge and corner into the slot is what i mean by the second thing.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh....R U R' pairs and then inserts them...R U' R' insets a paired pair. I wish I could understand if you meant something else. You can either put the right pieces across from each other for R U R' or you can pair them and inserts them with R U' R'. Whichever is easier during a solve.

I guess you are talking about the difference between connected or separated pairs? Go with whatever you see first. Its kinda preference. From doing teamsolves I have realized I use a lot more separated pairs than most people.

exactly what emerson said...

Off topic: you're 999 posts Emerson! Quick, make a random post somewhere and get into the quad digits!!!

you can do both.simple cases like (set up: R U' R') R U R' insert and pair at the same time, while other cases (set up:R U R' U') U R U' R' have the pair already made and only need to be inserted, and the last type of case ill talk about for f2l is (set up:{R U R' U'}2 U) R U' R' U R U' R' pair up then insert the c/e pair. soooo yaa.... did i answer your question?

They are equivalent...but one or the other will be easier to set up depending on the situation. For example if an edge is trapped in the middle layer, depending on how it's flipped one of the two options will be more attractive and you'll liberate the edge accordingly. If it's not clear, do it both ways and in time you'll instinctively gravitate toward the fewest moves/cube rotations.
