Today I can proudly announce my 100x100x100 Rubik's Cube. For now there's just a teaser video as I am still working on content. There will be a longer much better video next week.

Predicted questions-
1. Is it fully functional?
I am still trying to get layers moving. It's a long slow process and has some way to go. Until every layer can move independently Preston's record is safe.
2. Can you explain the colouring?
I rushed into buying a huge amount of black filament thinking I would sticker it. Then I realised gluing on 60,000 stickers, the vast majority being 3.5 x 3.5mm would take over 900 hours. So I redesigned it with snap-on coloured tiles which wasn't exactly quick.
3. Seriously? You aren't Matt Bahner or Oskar van Deventer.
No, but I got an enormous amount of help by people almost matching their expertise over the 5 years it took.
4. Why a 100x100x100 and not a 101x101x101?
Simple. The former is the holy grail of twisty puzzles, the latter isn't.

Size- 56.2cm. 2 x 8.5cm outer layers plus 98 x 0.4cm inner layers. Using thin metal corner stems allowed for maximum over hang of corners and therefore thinner outer layers.
Weight - Approx 87 kg / 191 pounds.

Thought 1: This must be fake
Thought 2: But he said he would never post a fake puzzle again
Thought 3: If this is real, this is an incredible achievement for puzzle design, engineering, and 3D printing all at the same time!!

Can't wait for the full video and I hope that you get it fully functional. I hope that you answer the type of filament, which 3D printer, and how much total filament was used.

Very skeptical this just doesn't look right. The look when I layer is turned but the fact the camera is so far away could explain this. The look when close up it looks like one piece with a bunch of groves. When he turns the inner layer they upper layers all move as one and look like they move too easily. They seem to have weird groupings that you can see from a distance as if the outside look like a 100x100 but only 5 of the layer turn. These seem to want to turn a lot more easily.

Huge cubes do have internal mechs with an internal 3x3, 5x5, ect. The exact amount depends on the design and this layering does create tiers to a mech.

The last part showing turning on a different axis only seem to show layers turned where it seems these weird groupings are. I don't know why such random layers would turn to much easier than the others. This could be the groupings. It's hard to describe but I mean with words but if you look at a big cube centers there's multiple bits sticking out for pieces in go into.

i think this is probably fake time will tell. I seriously doubt it is real if it is then it is a massive achievement. It's not like Tony Fisher hasn't done this before and if it is a prank he will show us how he did it.
