So I know most of you don't care but I've been gone for a while. That is because I've been focusing on chess, not just to get good at the game, but also for a special purpose. I can finally confirm that after becoming an advanced chess player and returning to cubing after practically giving it up for a few months, it helps with solving! The repetition and patterns in chess over time help you to recognize things faster and easier, which I've found translates to cubing. First off, I feel like my solves are a lot smoother and I am averaging about 1 second faster than usual because I can look ahead better and predict pieces with ease. Now I will say that I had to get used to cubing again and at first I had awful times. But if you can hop over that first hill it gets better. It might just be me, but I say you go ahead and try it! Also if you do try it please tell me how it goes
