Weather Cubers

Before someone brings it up, yes everyone and their mother knows Me Myself & Pi stormchases now:

Hurricane Kristy in the Eastern Pacific became a Category 5 hurricane yesterday with winds of 160 Mph and a central pressure of 926 Mb's, on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Otis Rapidly Intensifying to a Category 5 in the Eastern Pacific before hitting Mexico, luckily Kristy is expected to slowly lose energy over the next few days and it moves further into the Pacific exposing it to cooler waters and high shear.

I'll update if that changes

why was it a letdown?
Early models had it intensifying in the Caribbean into a major Hurricane (Category 3 & above on the Saffir-Simpson wind scale), as the storm progressed though it became clearer that it would interact with land more than expected inhibiting storm intensification only being able achieve tropical storm status. It goes without saying that letdown is only in terms of strength as what happened was far better in terms of human impact that what could've happened, still important to note the storm still unfortunately killed 7 in Hispaniola and Central America but impacts would've been much worse if it impacted Florida as a major hurricane.
