The motivation for this post is the observed effect (not with everyone) of faster cubers caring less about slower cubers,
and slower cubers understanding the current state of cubing development without ever communicating with faster cubers.

One example, is faster cuber blocking a slower cuber on discord because of the excessive doubts asked.
Another example, is slower cuber making youtube videos about a method claiming that they have a functional understanding of what they are presenting.

Some details building up the case:
  • A faster cuber is more focused and at a more mature stage compared to a slower cuber, so they have less areas to focus their energies on when they are communicating.
  • There will always be more slower cubers than faster cubers, so the faster cubers will be overworked if there is a two way communication between both the parties.
  • It is logical that the faster cuber will not time or the willpower to encourage the slower cuber.
  • The slower cuber can look out for the right tutorials and information on their own using YouTube or the emerging coaching services in cubing.
  • The fastest cubers also may not be the best teacher even if they have fundamental understand of their methods.
  • They may not document well or express themselves with clarity when reaching out to beginners and/or slower cubers.
  • I personally feel a faster cuber should take a more pro-active role to enable and encourage slower cubers.
  • It may not be a bounty prize or special social media recognition after the slower cuber finally achieves the goal, but it can be hand-holding and sharing of as many tips as possible.
  • The slower cuber will also crave for attention and make mistakes or be weak in English communication.
  • The faster cuber should be understanding and patient to ensure effective knowledge is imparted.

This is for the overall welfare and sustainability of the cubing community.

I've read this over a few times now, but I'm genuinely not sure what you're getting at here.

Is it something to do with making yourself available or for mentoring in general? Have you had a specific (negative?) experience or are you responding to a particular situation?

I appreciate the effort you're making to craft a load of thoughtful posts and start threads with them, but (so far) this wasn't your best.

In what sense? Not sure these generalisations are helpful.
Sorry guys,

I just tried to reword the post and make it clearer.

The main aim is to address the growing gap in the cubing community, between newer cubers who act on their own,
and older cubers who care less.
It is hard to define old, new, fast and slow cubers, so there are a lot of generalizations here.
