Clock and Other Things (Clock is Back)

Getting back into 3BLD! I can pretty consistently get successes now. I had no idea, but I’ve actually been using M2 this entire time. It was just way easier and more intuitive from the start when solving edges. I’m getting more sub-3:00 singles, and I recently DNFd a 1:52 by one incorrect edge. I’ve just started reading about Orozco today, so I may delve a little further into it.

Megaminx is slowly but surely (I hope) getting better. I’m focusing a lot on F2L efficiency and reducing inaccurate turning throughout the last layer. I intend to learn more algs again soon, but job = not as much time or energy to quickly learn new things. There’s a competition extraordinarily close to me this weekend which I’ll be attending. I normally wouldn’t go based on the events, but it’s a 40 minute drive from where I live. At least there’s one round of Megaminx, which gives an opportunity to set a new PR!

Nah it just came to me without any real rationale. Soap is a wild type axolotl, so that's what they naturally look like in the wild. There are three compounds in their skin which provide those different speckles and colors. Soap also expresses GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) which means they glow under a blacklight.

Where did you get him?

Right before I graduated college, the herpetology class who raised axolotls had the option to take them home, but not everyone could so some were open to adoption. That's how I acquired my Soap!

Somehow finally broke my Skewb PB average. That one's been around for about 2 years, and I somehow did it on the awful Wingy V2 (4.27). I got this PB on my Gan (4.13).
