Yiheng Wang interview

first time I've ever seen Yiheng say something.
He spoke when trying Leo's 2.78 scramble, and he's been interviewed before

iirc there's also a bit of drama where on the last few questions his mom told him what to say, not too sure and couldn't find the comments

Because it's a re-upload.

Just a couple of Singaporean Chinese (I'm one too) commenting that they noticed Yiheng's mother telling him what to say for the last few questions (I recall the comments being more of an observation and perhaps finding it funny rather than drama or inciting drama, but I'm not them so I don't know). I recall one of them speculating that they expected that part to be cut out in the final interview, but the interviewer didn't understand Chinese so didn't cut that part out in the original video.

So the re-upload is probably to remove unnecessary drama since unfortunately Yiheng is literally a drama magnet.

He seemed to say a lot more than just "yeah I'll travel in the future" for the second question
Did he answer the first part of the question, about future events?

um, what do you mean by that
bro... i was talking abt how cubing brought together people, and not other stuff people think of these days. This is an excellent example of how cubing helps people socially, and how happy even seung hyuk nahm is for yiheng's record. This promotes happiness and shows how cubing is a self-betterment sport, instead of defeating others (the champs are a different story). Don't think I was talking otherwise.

He said this for the second question:
"I hope I can go to more countries to compete in the future. Afterwards, I hope today's exhilaration (on obtaining the new 3x3 WR Average) doesn't affect afternoon's 2x2 (performance)."
Transition animation
I don't bother translating this part since it's already translated by his mom.

He did not answer the first part of the question about future events.

Bro, you just made this weird
When I asked you what you meant by that, I meant if you meant
A) How Seung Hyuk Nahm was trying to be a great big brother (he's not his brother but u know what I mean) for yiheng OR
B) what you said which was that that represented that cubing is great for socializing and promotes happiness

you just made that weird, I was asking a normal question, but you took it as if I was asking it the wrong way.

the tone did not seem like it
and we r going off-track

But maybe I think you should learn Chinese for listening to interviews and stuff.
Back then Shotaro Makisumi translated for Yu Nakajima in US Nats 2011. Both Japanese are former WR holder but in different era. Shotaro Makisumi studied in the US and speaks fluent English, while Yu Nakajima is a typical Japanese that pretty much only learnt English Alphabets in local high school.
